Nautilus Book
Having taken delivery of the 5711/1P and wearing it constantly for the last week I thought I'd better get to know the piece better and the changes over the last 40 years.
Just received this great book, 206 pages and so much detailed info. Covers all the Nautilus models (most detailed info is on 3700) up to and including the 40th pieces. Some of the copy period advertising of the Nautilus models by PP contained in the book is very interesting. PM me if anyone would like info on how to obtain a copy. |

Do they talk about The 5711p, The First not the 40th, in the book?

I don't believe the author had any factory input so there might well be a paragraph somewhere in the book that puts a caveat on the published number. |

Cool book. Cooler watch
Funny which watches turn out to be sought after and which don't. I remember everyone arguing over whether the 5711P was worth it's asking price when Khalid was offered one. It was a legitimate debate even considering he could easily afford it. In retrospect, he sure made the right choice |

I will quote the exact wording as this number seems extraordinarily small even for such a special piece. "Probably in 2013 Patek Philippe introduced, but never listed in their catalogues, the ref. 5711/1P, the platinum version of the 5711/1A..... Made in a very small number of about 15 and probably for the Patek Philippe salons only" As a comparison, the book lists that 4 3700's were made in platinum. The book is packed with info for the Nautilus geek. |

Where did you get the book from? Only available if you bought the 5711/1P model?

Looks like a cool book
IIRC an earlier version/edition of the book was available as an electronic download format a few years ago as the author has been active on online watch forums for quite some time. I didn't know it was actually published in hard copy. It looks to be a valuable resource for people interested in reading about the history of the Nautilus |

My estimate is they produced a total ~ 50 pieces for the original 5711/1P, although I have no insider connection to verify this. |

I just checked chrono 24 and there is one for sale, no price indication just that it's reserved, it's in Switzerland. If someone is interested and if the guy it's reserved for doesn't take it, it's K2 Luxury, usually they are very expensive, I guess they must be selling it a fortune...
