Once I was riding through a field in between a set of woods, and I could have sworn a bear jumped me. I was really shaking, but it turned out to be a Ruffed Grouse flushing right over my back. What a racket!! Talk about leaving a skid mark!

Yikes! I've had enough bird run-ins to last a lifetime. My collarbone break last year came from a bird embedding itself in my front wheel while going 25mph! Wings & feathers everywhere and you should've seen the bird. Front wheel immediately locked and I went right over the handlebars.

Here's my morning Jan. 6, 2007 ride. The temp was 63F! Normally, this time of year , we'll be in a range of -10F through 10F with chances of -15-20 late at night. Oh, we'd have piles of snow, too!
I rode with a buddy my age for 1.5 hours through wet leaves and warm drizzle. Awesome ride! We owned the woods today as we didn't see a single soul.
Sorry for the blurry photo. The missus snapped the shot.

Hey Marc, that road bike of yours is about as big as mine. How tall are you, mate?

I lost my fear of traffic early on. We used to draft trucks (a la Breaking Away) back in the late 70s and through the 80s on Toronto's Hwy 7. I had a killer training loop of 40km in the heart of Toronto that took in five of the city's toughest climbs, that I would ride after school and work, in rush hour. You can't be faint of heart to ride that route in a good time in rush hours.

The bike photo must be slightly deceiving as I'm 6'0 on a good day.

Really? How big is the frame? You may be riding a frame that's too big. Looks like a 62 or 63cm (27"). I'm 6'6" and ride a 62 and the length of that head tube looks about the same as mine.

I'll check out the measurement tonight. Maybe that's why I never made Cat.1!

might as well put some pics of my bike here too.
I know nothing about cycles.
I bought this one cause it had disk brakes and I thought that was cool.

Yeap.
However, I am a neat freak. So basically everything that I own looks brand new! LOL
