Crown on my Tudor looks a little off.

Or maybe I'm just being picky.

Went to start it up, first two turns felt boggy, third turn no resistance. Went to pull the crown to see if the hands would set. Came out of the tube smooth as butter. Good excuse to have it regulated while its at RSC.

Oh Well...

A little disappointing, that's the second 2824 movement to fail under warranty, the Black Bay also died on me this year, under warrenty. Oh and my Sub broke a rotor and my DateJust snapped its Mainspring. Thank heavens for my Nomos's.

I did get to put on the BB36 today at the AD. Mixed feelings. If it had a domed crystal and drilled lugs I'd be wearing it right now.

That's not exactly a movement failure. It's likely the stem that came unscrewed from the crown. Probably lack of lock tite at assembly.
Unless, of course, it snapped. But you would have noticed.

Should be an easy fix, but annoying nonetheless.

You've had quite the rash of bad luck with watches. Maybe it's time to move out of watches and into something with fewer moving parts. There was someone on here a while ago with a collection of Rolex spoons

An easy fix but requires removing the caseback, pulling out the stem, reattaching the crown, and reassembly.

Thanks Kilyung, good to know it's no big deal. Unfortunately for me the fix is way out of my comfort zone. It would be like Dr. Tom telling me to just retract the main aorta and pop in the new valve. Best left to experienced hands...and eyes.

Very annoying, especially if you don't live near an RSC. I hope it gets fixed quickly.

Had something similar happen to a Sub of mine a few years ago. Mike is right; was a quick easy fix for my ADs certified watchmaker. Good luck.

Glad you got it back Ralph

I still haven't found a better looking strap for the Ranger than that Tula.

Good deal. That is a little discouraging having so many issues with Rolex/Tudor movements. And I agree on the Nomos. My metro pr is probably the most satisfying watch I own.

Thanks Adam, it really suits the watch.

I'm sure it was a fluke Brandon. With the production numbers of the 2824 I've not heard of many problems. Not even sure if I would call this one a movement issue. I'm a Metro fan also, my urban gray and the Ranger get the most wrist time of my watches.

I guess everything will break in time. You don't say anything about the age or service history of the DJ or the Sub.

As for the Tudors, thank God for warranties.

Agreed Grady, nothing last forever. Didn't mean to sound whiney. I do miss the watches when their gone for service. I don't know the DJ service history other than its a '72 1601 and I've not touched it. The Sub I bought new in the early '90s. It ran flawlessly for well over 20 years. No complaints at all.
