Case damage due to bezel removal - Fixable by RSC?

Ladies and gents,

I recently purchased a mint V serial 16610 from a long known and very respected seller of pre-owned Rolex and other higher-end Swiss made watches. Upon receipt of the watch, I noticed the following damage on the 6 o’clock side, likely due to a bezel removal gone wrong by the original owner:

I notified the seller and we discussed options (he didn’t see the damage when he acquired the watch). My question to the Forum is – will a Rolex Service polish this area of the case as part of the normal service? If not, can I request that or would you advise against that?

My assumption is that even if Rolex Service can polish this up, it wouldn’t take it back to its completely original look, but may make it look better. I know that this is an area that many will never see, but I know it’s there.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts/comments,
