Is this the time to buy a DateJust?

I've been admiring the new datejust 41. Now that all the pressure is on the ss sports models, is this the time to buy a DJ?

Anyone bought a SS DJ with 18K bezel recently and scored a big discount?

Yes. It’s a great time to buy as dealers will be more flexible with discounts.

I am very seriously thinking of the 41 Datejust all steel with Oyster. AD will knock €550 off the price. I have history there so that helps. They gave €650 off my Sub 114060.

I bought one last week. I got mine from David SW and couldn't be happier with it. Check out his website, he is offering discounts on them.

Sure, if that's what you want.

I think big discounts are a thing of the past. Your best best is to see what they are going for from a TS and then take that number shopping with you.

Really?! Where I live those kind of discounts would imply a full gold watch, diamonds, being a regular costumer, the works...

Bought 10 days ago.....with a very substantial discount from AD. Basically, I told them the best price in the grey market, and they matched it.

Definelty, I love the DJ4 but I'm waiting for BW just in case something interesting shows up.

With a DJ I'd be aiming for 25% off, ready to settle at 20 off. I'm happy to wait. It's a buyer's market, time is on my side.

My guess is unless you have a relationship with AD there might not be a discount

ADs will parlay the SS issue to there TT models at some point

Rolex has a plan and that plan is MSRP on all models at all times. Book it.

For now.....

Rolex is taking back control. Once they solve SS dilemna they will create another false 'mystique' over TT.

The time to buy one is now - if you like them and want to wear one.

People are scoring big discounts every day on DJs...with TRF trusted sellers.

Is it possible to achieve discounts like this from a UK AD?

No way; you'l be lucky to get a penny off. These big discounts just weaken the brand and wreck resale values. I don't blame Rolex for trying to stop it.
Any AD in the UK offering large discounts on a Datejust risks losing the franchise.
Still, you can try.....

I would call around to ADs in the area, let them know what you are looking for and what you are willing to pay. My local AD is offering at least 10-15% off DJs (there are many in the display case and only a handful of sports models).

I'm really liking the new DJ41 as well and thinking about picking up a 126300 on jubilee or the 126334 on oyster...decisions decisions...what color dial! The Rhodium does look amazing, but Rolex always does blue so well.

I have actually just added the 126300 to my collection. Traded the Speedy Tuesday Omega and £600 for a brand new with Stickers.

The lower profile and versatility have made this the go-to daily wearer.

The 72-hour power reserve is a nice treat when swapping for the weekend. and let's not forget that dreamy blue dial.

It's the little brother of the blue stainless sky-dweller with smooth bezel for people who can remember what month it is and don't travel more than a couple timezones away and can add or subtract an hour or 2 when needed!

Beautiful watch!

I, very recently, had 3 ADs quote me full bore retail on a DJ41. One offered a slight discount to offset the tax (6%). One of them sited the sport model shortage as their justification.....Whatever. I have 2 inbound greys that will be here tomorrow from DavidS

I think these are still OK, Rolex know these are not really shifting despite waiting lists on the populars, so their attitude is mostly still like before so up to 10% is OK, just depends on the AD's discretion and location.

Looking to pick up a steel fluted 36mm DJ II in the UK, what percentage off should I be aiming for?
See that the UK market is in bad shape but it’s just a DJ.

Thank you.
