Presentation Box Size

I'm curious. I was told the SS sport watches were shipped in a small size box (6 inches wide) and the TT Watches were shipped in a medium size box (7 inches wide). Is this correct. Not a biggie but just wondering. Thanks.

I'm not sure about small, medium, large etc. or what boxes TT watches come in. I'm sure a more knowledgeable member will post soon. However, I do know that SS do come in a small size box and PM pieces come in a larger box. Whether TT comes in the larger sized box I have no idea. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

In my experience, yes. My Datejust came with a medium size box while my BLNR came in a small size box.

My DJ, subC, BLNR and sub LV came with the small box. I convinced the AD to give me the medium box with both subs instead.

The serial number hang tag will indicate which box now. Oyster S, M, or L.

Watches are not shipped in presentation boxes. The AD has a presentation boxes stock. The watches are shipped separately a small plastic box. Upon a sale, the watch is unwrap, protective plastics removed and then the sales person go get the appropriate box.

That's my understanding.

Professional SS models will no longer come with a Rolex box besides you buy a second one in PM

No one knows as they aren't shipping anymore SS sports watches.

My wife's TT DJ and my SS Sub-Date both came with the medium size box about a year ago. I guess it depends on what box the sales person grabs from the cabinet at the time of sale.

The above is the general principle. In practice, some ADs may give you a different size box, e.g. a Medium for SS, or a large for TT, etc.

Keeping in mind that the boxes, (any size) are most likely made in some impoverished nation by young children. Not to bring reality into the discussion.

All watches are shipped from the Switzerland based Rolex factory around the world, in small plastic polystyrene lined boxes some call coffins. The other boxes and other bits are added by the AD at point of sale,at one time it was pot luck to whatever box you got its was basically what AD had on his shelf at point of sale. And as these packaging boxes are made in a few different parts of the world, in countries like say the USA which is a separate company from the rest of the world box size could be different. When we are mainly talking about the SS watches all solid precious metal and TT watches MAY come in different boxes to the SS, but lately most SS come with medium size boxes. Now the DSSD mostly comes in the large box but this is not always the case one thing is for sure you will get one of either of these.

There are only 2 sizes now.

Medium and Large.

All SS/TT/PM are shipped in the medium sized boxes now and the large ones are reserved for like PT Daytona, Rainbow, SARU, All those special pieces etc....thats what my dealer told me few weeks ago when I got my 116618LB. I dont think Rolex are issuing small boxes anymore however some will still get them due to ADs having heaps of them left over.

All my old SS came in small boxes. In the past my TT/PM all came in Medium boxes. I've never had those Large boxes before but I've seen them at the AD plenty of times.
