Heard today from my AD that you're third watch is free. Starting tomorrow. It's a fact. I'm buying 2 tomorrow. Gonna get mine.

I picked up at 126600 this week in the UK. I was told exactly the same. The number of watches being produced is going to decline this year compared to the previous year.

The display case is interesting because in the UK we have been crying out for an increase in SS supply since 2016 and the grey market has thus gone into orbit, and yet Rolex have not done anything, rather the undersupply has been allowed to spread worldwide, so unless production has been diverted to new mvmt models at Basel then this has been a deliberate policy and runs counter to all the AD dictats they have been imposing. Curbing the grey market should be the responsibility of the brand manufacturer, not the retailer or consumer.

For the record, ADs do not have any advance notice of a price increase.
We receive a new pricing book by overnight mail, normally effective the next day. We then must return the expired version immediately.
Been a very bizarre 4 months to say the least.

If prices went up as much as ADs say they will, Rolex would cost more than Grand complication Pateks

Whilst Rolex is not Patek, they both share a common thread in that some of their lines (Rolex's steel sports models, Pateks Nautilus), have long waiting lists).

Pateks argument apparently has been the fact that the Nautilus has been selling in the pre-owned markets for as much as 20-30% over list, therefore they've undervalued their watch hence brought it back in line with its real value.

Word has it that Rolex's recent have cut back on deliveries of sports watches to their AD's is a pre-curser to the same tactic. Make the waiting lists longer, thereby increase demand/prices of pre-owned and put up their retail prices.

I would anticipate a price increase of Rolex 'in demand' pieces to go up by at least 10% in 2018.

It really wouldn’t suprise me, if we see some updated models at Basel, I can see it hapening.

If my GMT LN went up 100 pounds every time there was a thread regarding a price increase
It would now be 10 000 pounds

It's well over 60% now, even the white dial 5711 is over 30%.
