Trade Pelagos for 114060?

Would you trade a pelagos (blue face) towards a 114060? I don’t wear the pelagos and I have hankering for a 114060 or 116610.

I have a 116600, 16600, 14060M for my other divers. I will be adding a 16610LV soon, I think I have one picked out.

Based on you collection, I wouldn’t. Another sub is just more of the same.

I agree with this kind of. The pelagos after all is just another diver. Ideally id prefer to see some diversification in the OPs collection, but I get it. I love divers too.

Bottom line I think the 114060 is the ultimate classic sports watch. It’d be an awesome addition to any collection.

A good point there. Do you intend to move anything else?

No...the Pelagos offers so much more, and is great piece to have in any collection. I am a big fan of its 3 day PR movement..mine is the most accurate mechanical watch I have ever owned.

I did the trade in reverse - a 116610LN to a Pelagos LHD, not as an actual trade, but sold the 116610LN and bought a Pelagos LHD from my AD.

On paper the Pelagos offered a lot more. It was light, looked great, kept time better than the SubC Date, had better lume, etc.

But after a few weeks it kind of lost that "wow" factor. Didn't give me the same fuzzy feeling I got putting a Sub on.

So what I'm saying is you'll feel like it'll be an upgrade moving to the Sub. So do it.

Not a question in my opinion. Sub wins over the Pelagos each and every time...especially since you say you don't wear the Pelagos.

Yes, as I love the 114060 and have no desire to own a Pelagos, but I would personally only want one black SS Rolex diver in my collection. That written, the 114060 seems to fit in better than the Pelagos with the theme of your collection.

Go for the Sub as long as you don't mind the weaker lume, no date window, shallower depth rating and shorter power reserve.

Yes, I would. Tudor watches tend to lose the wow factor for me pretty fast. Then again, I really love Rolex sports watches so my advice is quite biased!

As long as you're not planning any saturation dives. That wouldn't work well with any of the watches you've got. On the other hand you should be fine in the shallows.

Pelagos is a fantastic value for money watch but the 114060 is a superior watch in many aspects.
