Yellow Gold or TT Sub

If price was no issue, which would you rather have as your after work/weekend watch, only submariner, and the last watch you could buy for the next 10 years? (Couldn't wear it to work.)

This was my only Rolex for a time and served me admirably.

I may be wrong, but I think the vote on this is a foregone conclusion. YG.

Trick question right?

I’d go with all gold in a heartbeat, but with having small kids and all,
TT is as far as I can take it conservatively.

Tt is enough flash for me. If I’m going to spend $$ I’ll go with pt or wg. No one to impress but myself.

Full yellow gold. No doubts. It is actually more subtle than TT.

I have owned the Bluesy twice, one 5 digit that I regretted flipping and reincarnated with a 6 digit ceramic... which I recently let go for a new acquisition. However, if I return again to the world of the Blue Sub, it will be Full YG... so that's my vote!

I voted Bluesy as I have a DD as my PM piece. Can't go wrong either way though!

I bought the 116618LB last year. If i had to do it again i would buy the pré-ceramic version.

I have owned both. The contrast between the steel/gold/blue is a bit more bling than the monochrome full 18K gold. Just my opinion. YMMV

GOLD... unmiscegenated... unabashed.. GOLD (and blue of course)! This is my all time grail watch since my right of passage into manhood. I'm well into the 2nd half and still waiting to seize the opportunity to call one mine. It's not as easy a jump as Steel to Bluesy, which was only a few more shekels. Bluesy to all gold, close to double! But one day.. one day.
Until then, I love my Bluesy as it is a grail (for me) in it's own right! And it's also IMHO more versatile... Anyway, long story shortened.. Vote ALL gold.

All gold sub is heavy and a pure ad for conspicuos consumption. You won't wear it often because of that. Instead you will sit at home admiring your "precious". TT Bluesy is simply great looking and a watch you will want to wear.

Been in our family since 1984, 16808 and only serviced once in 1990. Last year I inherited it and I had the bezel insert changed last year. I kept the very good condition original flat four insert as well.

Used to have the TT Bluesy. If I would buy a Sub with a blue face I will definitely go for the full YG version. It's totally different, in a good way I mean!

I actually agree with this. I wanted a full gold watch and after trying them on side by side, I actually found the TT to pop more. The contrast seems to do it.

This is also just my hypothesis, but we are so used to seeing full gold plated watches (Michael Kohrs etc) that at first glance, another full gold looking watch may just be assumed to be as such from the general public. The Bluesy seems to be iconic Rolex, so just seems to bling out more.

Also just my opinion.
