It looks great! I brushed my BLNR bracelet and then had it polished back a few months later.

Looks fantastic! I like the PCLs but the minor scratches would drive me nuts so I'd probably have them brushed also.

Just thought I'd post a few pictures if anyone is considering doing the same thing.

Well done!

I laugh at this all the time. How many BLNRs are bought by construction workers out there on jackhammers and someone laying down cement. How many carpenters are out there building houses hammering away with their Subs. How many plumbers are walking in houses with their Daytonas to get on their knees under the sink.....
And exactly what tool characteristic is being violated by shiny pcls. A watch developed for commercial pilots, flying in suits, and in comfort.

Then I go to the general discussion thread and read, is it safe to ride a motorcycle with my Rolex, Will a sauna hurt my Sub, should I buff out this swirl, I used a million power micron microscope to look at the dial and noticed there is a speck in my Rolex crown so Rolex needs to give me a new watch.
Then there's my two favorite concerns of Rolex "tool" watch buyers. I used a NASA developed laser measuring tool and noticed my bezel doesn't line up exactly at twelve o'clock....and of course the oldie but goody, my crown doesn't line up pointing up like the advertisement.

A $10k watch by Rolex has ceased being a tool watch for the masses many many years ago. Watches by Rolex, Omega and Panerai for example are tool watch heritage, over engineered watches with with a rich history in adventure and extremes. But today the average working man isn't tooling around in a $10k watch.

I love that my luxury item can take a beating and survive extremes but in 2018, it's a nice shiny pretty metal thingy, an expensive one.
So thanks for the laugh, tool watch, lol.

I love shiny things but have to admit the brushed does look good. However I would never lay my watch on rocks for a picture.........

The brushed bracelet suits the GMT much better than the polished. I think the different bracelets for the Sub and the GMT are used so that most of the buyers can differentiate the models. Plus polished equals more expensive. That's why the Oyster Perpetual, the least expensive Rolex watch, has a brushed bracelet unlike the Datejust.

I like it, but just went another route, I used my subc bracelet, I typically have an Everest on my sub anyway and I just leave the PCL bracelet in the safe.

Same result. Looks great! And more comfortable with the glidelock.

There are people that really love the PCL, I hate them the brushed just looks so much nicer.

I assume as you have that this is an assumption. Unless you have this directly from Rolex. That is not the reason it has a brushed bracelet. The GMT2 LN, a watch with an arguably more complex movement is $100 less expensive than a SubC which costs more and has a brushed bracelet.

OP, thanks for the post.

I’ve been considering having my PCLs brushed or trying to procure a submariner bracelet with glidelock (although I hear it’s expensive and hard ronsource)

Looks great. Pretty rare that a mod actually seems like a better fit for the overall design of the watch.

I like the looks of my PCL's but must admit the brushed look is quite appealing on your piece! Congrats!

Why, though? You do realize that the GMT came with brushed bracelet for what, almost 50 years?

Very nice improvement and $50 well spent! I'm a convert with the PCLs and enjoy them but deep down I know this watch deserves all links brushed as you have it.

Hey more power to you and if you are happy that is all that matters. I just don’t understand though, I really like the look of PCLs. Even on a “tool” watch like a GMT, I think it adds a bit of flash that is not too much.

Looks much better.

This is not like painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa, its just watch. I'd do this to any watch with pcl's on them without hesitation.

Looks great! I Never was a fan of PCL's. I did mine as well about a year ago. Couldn't be happier! I find that many tire of PLC after time.

I think the brushed looks a lot better and, in my opinion, is how the watch should have come from the factory.

Does anyone have experience with going back to PCLs after having them brushed. Pics would be great. I would think significant amount of metal would be lost in this process...
