Man Nick, sorry to hear. I think the only people that can really relate are people who have walked in the same shoes. When we had to put our 16 year old Shih-tzu down a few years ago, it really left a hole in our hearts. I can't believe we cried so much over a dog; it's amazing how something so small can fill a house! We have had our current one for 3 years and still occasionally call her by the former's name.

So sorry for your loss Nick. What a sweet looking pup, that I'm sure loved every minute with you.

Sorry for your loss . We had to say goodbye to our 16 year old chihuahua, Pebbles, in the middle of the Pandemic last year. Like you, we were crushed.

I dread these threads.

We've lost 4 dogs in 30 years and soon probably another one, and there are no words to describe the connection we have, and the loss we feel.

I guess part of the pain we feel is loss of a buddy, and the fact that we feel incredibly responsible for them, and can remember the details of their rather short lives so vividly. They were only a puppy around 10 years ago.

Sorry for your pain.

Saw this story the other day....https://www.outsideonline.com/cultur...ign=pockethits

So many kind words in the this thread. I greatly appreciate the comments, articles, poems, and prayers.

We might argue about watch nicknames, but I think we have pretty good people around here.

Thank you. All of you.

Oh man, I'm so sorry. We lost our 19 year old mini dachshund a while back and it crushed me. Hang in there and when you are ready, bring a new family member in and it will help you move on. Coincidentally we just picked up our 8 week old mini F1B Goldendoodle last week. Still miss our girl but our new little baby is certainly helping all of us move on.

Sorry for your loss Nick ……………….

I have a 16.5 yr old, know it’s coming, and dread the day when it happens.
