5513 Restored!

I just received this back today. It's rejuvenated after spending time at the Ridley spa in TX.

It looks and feels just great!

Your watch looks great! Glad to hear the Bob is still working, I heard a while back that nobody could get in contact with him.

I wanted to add a few more pics showing the before and after movement

being refurbished. This is were the worn out brass bushings (which is the

actual mainplate and bridges) are bored and then replaced with much stronger

Beryllium bushings. This process allows the watch to run for many, many more years.

Lastly, you can see the minute hand is missing a portion of Tritium. The client

went back and forth on leaving it alone, or, having us surgical go in there and

match the overall color of the Tritium.

Phillip:

Is my understanding correct that just the mainplate was sent to Rolex and Rolex did the boring and bushing replacement sending the mainplate back to you for your restoration work?

Yes, once the movement has been cleaned and disassembled, we would then send only the mainplate and allow them to move forward with the process.
