Snoopy 50th vs Daytona 116500ln. What chronograph would you choose?
Looking to decide between these two. Both appear to be the most special watch of their respective brands.

I would take the Daytona. I think it’s a nicer watch overall. Snoopy is nice too but I find the strap to be disappointing.

Speedmasters are great - I think everyone should at least try one, but I wouldn’t start with the Snoopy or Ed White unless you love the Speedmaster. For that matter, why not get a Zenith or Lange chrono? Those are pretty special too.

I love Rolex but the Daytona is just one I have never fallen in love with.
I have had several and always end up flipping them. I bought a 3861 Speedy and can't stop wearing it. I myself would go for the Snoopy. The Speedmaster has won me over for a Chrono, otherwise its a Rolex every time over an Omega. My 3 most worn watches would be my DD 40, SD4K and 3861 Speedmaster |

Daytona, all day long. Even at secondary price, it's worth it.

My go to chrono are Speedys. I find their size fits me better than Daytonas do.
That said, I don't know that a Snoopy is something I'd wear daily, but in a collection I would take the Snoopy. |

I have both. I would start with the Daytona. The Snoopy is great, but you're also missing out if you don't already have the moonwatch. Being able to look at the movement is really something. The other thing with the Snoopy is that it looks great on picture, but almost everyone immediately switches out the blue strap with the standard moonwatch strap. So keep that in mind also.

Both are great but the Daytona would be my choice.

The Daytona only because of resale. If I had to keep it if pay real pricing I would pass.
I wanted a Snoopy very much. When one came in and I had a chance, I passed. It was underwhelming to me in person. So I guess I would pass on both. PM Daytona is another story. |

Daytona between those two choices. Might be biased as I have a Daytona and have never owned a Speedmaster. It's on the list but always gets trumped by other watches when it comes down to purchasing time.

Had a few daytona's and ended up selling them; great looking watches but they're functionally useless chronographs and with the reflective hands it's not easy to tell time on them.
Having said that, I think the snoopy 50th looks ugly - saying this as a huge fan of speedmasters. Perhaps try one of the first two versions (I believe the 2015 one sells for big money though, much more expensive than a 116500ln). |

Aside from being chronographs they really are two completely different watches.
One’s an automatic, one’s a manual wind for starters. What else do you own? Welcome to the forum |

Daytona. I love the snoopy watch but I don't think it would be a daily whereas a Daytona could be. If going Snoopy I would shoot for the V2 white.

Hands down Daytona.
My first luxury watch was an Omega SMP. It’s nice. Omega makes nice pieces, but ultimately not as good as Rolex. Omega tends to have watches that are too thick, and most bracelets and clasps aren’t nearly as refined as Rolex. The number of variations that Omega has for their watches is also something I don’t like. So from a brand standpoint, it’s an easy choice From a watch itself comparison, the Daytona is just better. It’s the iconic piece from Rolex, whereas the iconic piece from Omega is a standard Speedmaster. The Daytona is thinner, it’s more refined, the bracelet is better, the clasp is better. The design is iconic, and the history of the Daytona is iconic. It’s also an everyday piece. The Snoopy is one variation of the many Speedmaster. It comes with a cool story (and it’s really main thing driving this watch, so if you’re really into the backstory of Snoopy and a huge space nerd, then Snoopy is the way to go). Aside from that, the watch is thicker, comes on an average strap, and the highlight of the watch is the case back that many will find gimmicky and mostly for children (again, unless you’re a huge space nerd then kudos to you). It’s definitely not an everyday piece considering there’s a cartoon dog on the face. |

Tough one to choose, but as a daily one only then Daytona. I own a silver Snoopy & it’s more of a watch to own if one has a small collection to rotate thru the week imo.

Daytona, rugged and auto wind. Basically, put it on, only to take it off in five or ten years for service.

Daytona. I generally don't like to buy watches just to have them, I like watches I can wear in almost any situation. Can't see myself doing that with the Snoopy for various reasons, although I do love the watch.

I find the Omega a little bulky and prefer the Daytona, for comfort and style.

Been considering and struggling with this also. I think I might pick the Snoopy over the Daytona. Less flashy and doesn’t suggest any form of materialism and therefore less worrying in public. Also I quite like the “if you know, you know” mentality. Further, I think the case back is incredible on the Snoopy.

Daytona over any Omega gimmick watch.

Snoopy 50th vs Daytona 116500ln. What chronograph would you choose?
Have you considered a 321. Not gimmicky (easily a daily) and perfect in nearly every way.

Daytona all day, every time, without question. Omega has milked the moon thing. Enough already.

I’d go with the Snoopy. Good luck!
