AD said 2023 Sky Dweller wasn't out yet
Went to an AD today in OC CA (i'm sure you can guess) and was told that the 2023 SD wasn't out yet and I couldn't put my name down for one even if I'm happy to wait. Is this true? She said to keep coming back to see when they would be released. Just to put my name down on a list.
Sounds like BS? I went to a used watch place and they had a 2023 model on display with stickers / blue dial / jubilee so now i'm super confused. AD said that they were putting in a different movement, etc. |

I got my sky dweller in march. It is the previous movement but a 2023 model.

Ok so maybe it's true then. 2023 model is being "updated". I'm certain someone on here has the answer. I'm a noob. Sorry if it's a dumb question.

I haven’t seen a 2023 on the secondary market yet with the 9002 movement. Nor have I seen a green stainless skydweller. That said, any old stock 9001 movements sold now would get a 2023 card. So perhaps that is what you saw. That said, the 9001 and 9002 are virtually identical movements. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I believe the new releases should be showing up in around the July timeframe.

Right. What I meant is that the green dial is the new 2023 one. Haven’t seen any yet - which suggests the 2023 hasn’t shipped to ADs yet. Because when they are, someone will get it and flip it to DavidSW or someone for big money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Rolex does not have “year models.” They have references and apparently the updated Skys from this March’s Watches and Wonders have not made it to AD’s yet. The date the watch is sold starts the warranty, the only year/date that has any meaning.

good to know... so then the jubilee version is probably the latest but the 9002 movement version comes out sometime this year so AD's can no longer get them. Does anyone know if there will be a blue dial?

If it’s on the site then it is available.. blue dial still remains but just in an updated reference number.

I have the 2023 green on my registry. List is made up. How extensive is your purchase history?

Sounds like you need a new AD. They won't even put your name down for the watch.

South Coast Plaza? Horrible service from there and awfully shady things going on.

I don’t like the sky dweller that much, but that green dial on the oyster looks pretty sweet. |

Are you looking for a SS model with Blue or Green dial...I'll save you time go grey market. You will not be allocated one being your first. Thats just how most of these ADs are functioning. Two tone or most gold models you will get one. Even the SS white or black dial you have a good chance.

It sucks, but that's how it is at the moment. The blue dial Sky-Dweller is probably more difficult to get hold of than a Daytona. In answer to your question "like why do i need to pay some low life flipper 10k?" To get the watch you want.

Someone who owns the watch and for whatever reason, decides to move it on, is a flipper. Just because someone has something that you don't and they no longer want it, this does not make them a low life. |

We'll agree to disagree on this one. Where is the real skill here and value being provided to the world other than "buying low selling high" creating a false economy.

Actually it's Rolex creating the false economy by forcing dealers to sell at MSRP. The flippers are relying on actual supply and demand.

I suppose there are all sorts of ways of looking at it. I guess it's no longer on topic here and I appreciate those that responded in kind.
Given me something to think about :) |
