I spent months agonizing over the 5711/1R vs. the 5980... In the end, I have a ton of larger heavy watches. No disrespect to the 5980 but for my first PP I decided that I prefer the classicism and simplicity of the 5711. Certainly I don't mean to take anything away from the 5980... They are both amazing and you can't go wrong... One thing to note is that the metal is softer than an watch I've owned. I'm super careful and somehow I have a bunch of scratches...

Old thread but anyway i have the same problem i want the 5980 1r but because of the price tag I was leaning towards 5711 1r and thought to myself will I really be happy?(i like thicker watches) Now, I just myself to get 5980 1r even if it takes a few extra months.
