Well, it turned out good. I have enough stuff to make one more. Maybe next one will have more meat for Wes. But I put too much parmesan cheese on, it added to the taste but not so much next time. And next time I will put on slices of tomato, maybe put them on when it's close to being done cooking.

What's next? Gotta think of something.

Pong was fun. I was quite partial to Asteroids - had the actual game set up in our first apartment shortly after Dave and I were married. I mean, the big wooden console arcade game. A friend was storing it at our place so we got to play it for free.

I loved astroids, had the shirt too. Remember how those tee shirts with the different logos were the big thing. I had a Bowie one and a Frampton one too, wish I still had them. You'd go to the mall, choose a tee and a sticker, and they'd iron them on for ya.

I never was into vid games when I was younger. If I got my hands on anything was Pac Man. :-)

Why were you eating vegetarian recipes then? I not only like most vegetables but I read about all the health benefits and that got me very interested.

And the most important factor for me is that if we all stop eating meat we can use the farms that are used for animals and animal food for extra food and then there would be enough food for everyone on the planet.
I know I'm not going to make a difference on my own, but I might be able to get people to know that there is a solution for food shortage in developing countries and if we all just change our diet we can stop people from starving.

Bas,

I definitely understand where you are coming from regarding the health and ethical advantages of being a vegetarian. I'd like to insist on the fact that I never was completely a vegetarian though, it was only during the week when I'd cook for myself as I would order some meat when I'd go to a restaurant and I wouldn't ask people to avoid cooking meat when I was around (my girlfriend and parents, for instance). Speaking for myself it was more about health reasons while I was losing weight but some things happen along the way and re-introducing meat in my diet helped me to be better.

Fear not, my fruits, veggies and grains are in check as well and eating meat, for me, doesn't mean eating an awful lot until I can barely breathe. I still make sure I have a well balanced diet.

I'm glad you could change your diet in a way to lose weight and still keep it balanced.
I don't want people to avoid eating meat if they don't want to, I eat meat as well but I try to base my meals mostly around vegetables and grains because it's healthy.

I think the main problem isn't quite the consumption of meat as much as the overconsumption. Too much of everything is bad and unhealthy in my opinion.

I'm more of a calculator when it comes to choosing my meals, however, with the goals I have I wouldn't be able to avoid vegetables, fruits or grains even if I wanted to. There are many ways to live a healthy life and that's what I want to do (although a bit of junk food every now and then doesn't hurt, we can always spoil ourselves a bit...).

Now I see you are posting a PeTA link, are you a member of that organization?

Met my parents for lunch at the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square. Some pics of my favourite paintings. We have another Sunflowers on loan from Amsterdam at the moment. Also Monet, Seurat, Vermeer, and Turner.

Hubby, going through the junk drawer in the kitchen: "Hey, you have a Stanley locking tape measure. I'll trade you one of mine for this one so that my two will be the same brand."

"It matters that your tape measures are the identical brand?"

"It's a guy thing."

This, from the man who wears mismatched shoes to work.

Wes, lovely pictures! Thanks for risking getting in trouble and snapping some photos for us.

Your mum's watch looks really good on her. Does she wear it every day?

Art, your pizza looked fantastic and I'm sure it tasted great as well...
Sliced tomatoes are excellent on pizza and if you like garlic(a bulb)...fresh garlic clove cut up and spread all over the pizza is supreme. Btw. you can cut up the tomato when you put on all your other ingredients and then pop it in the oven. You do not have to wait until the end to put the slices on!!!

Surely it's not every man's thing because I'm not like that...at least not for measuring tapes...

I agree, Leo - tomatoes roast up just fine when they go in the oven right from the start.
