ABC, LAWW, Ricci...who would you recommend to restore and service

thinking of giving my 6263 a face lift. And while at the spa she might as well get a full movement service. Needless to say, RSC is out of the question.
There are quiet a few choices out there. Who would you recommend? What are your experiences, good and bad?

I guess it would depend on what you mean by "face lift." (I certainly wouldn't touch the dial on any vintage piece, especially a Daytona, although maybe you're using the term loosely.)

I've used ABC and LAWW with great success, and I've heard/read very good things about Riki. Bob Ridley is also a good option.

All those guys are great. I'd also recommend our own Tommy (R.W.T.). He does amazing work in service and restoration, and is about the nicest guy you could deal with. Good luck!

If you're considering having it polished, I can attest that Beau at LAWW is an absolute magician.

send to RCS and have them throw in a service dial while they are at it!

Lol... Have used LAWW (and before when the team was at ABC) with great results.

I meant the case, not the dial, should have been more specific...

I've used Rik, great experience every time.

If you're referring to Christina Ricci, I'm not sure if she knows anything about watches but I'd be willing to let her try!

I used Bob Ridley in the past and if I needed service TODAY would go ABC or LAWW

Does anyone have an alternative e-mail address for LAWW? The address on their website (hello@lawatchworks.com) is getting no response. Cheers.

Any one know of a good place/person in Denver to get movement serviced? Last time i took my Watch AD they swapped the Dial and Hands with out asking:( Now I've been on a two year quest to find a period correct 16800 matte dial and hands. Watch was handed down from my father and it had a great cream patina!

So sorry to hear this. Were you able to get your dial and hands back? What did they say to you?? How in the world could they justify swapping out dial and hands without either advising or asking you??

LA watch works, hands down. I've had terrific experience with them, and their work speaks for itself: besides numerous examples here, check out their instagram page.

Also, be aware that ABC Watchwerks in Los Angeles, and LA Watch Works in Pasadena, CA, are two different companies.

AD told me after the fact that the dial had sun damage and needed to be replaced. The dial was sent in to Rolex for the exchange before i could do anything about it. Obviously i never used them again. I am still looking for a reasonable priced dial and hands to get it back to its original condition. not much comes up on TRF and i don't trust Ebay.

Both ABC and LAWW do amazing casework. Alex @ ABC and Beau @ LAWW have an equivalent skill set. Both are amazing artisans. You can't go wrong either way.

I wonder why LA WatchWorks isn't a vendor or has more presence here...

Hey Zach,

I wouldn't recommend anyone in the Denver area for vintage service. There is one CW21 shop in the area at Matheu's Fine Watches in Highlands Ranch, however, and that would probably be your best bet. Right Time also does service but I have not had the best experience with them in the past.
