Some facelift on 5131r ?

Hi

When I have checked patek.com today I have realised that there is some facelift on 5131r. Seems like some cities have been changed but the watch is same in general.

It looks good but I am dubious when a brand like Patek plays on watches. What do you think ?

They have simply updated the city ring to match the other world times. For some reason they chose not to update the 5131R when the 5930 and 5230 were introduced to make them all match.

Hopefully they just printed a new batch of cities that can be slotted neatly into a platinum case!

I thought it was the opposite and the original models had no snow before it was later added?

My 2015 001 has snow. I have also seen a 2016 010 without snow.
Simply down to the person doing the cloisonné work.

Mine is sans snow. I like the aesthetic with the snow more, but perhaps without snow is rarer and someday more valuable? Who knows.

I do like the idea of a repeater as suggested by Brian. That should reduce the wait time!

They are still behind the times.

They should drop Sydney off and add in one of the 1/2 hour timezones such as Adelaide.
