5711 Blue Resale Value
Hey guys. Haven't checked in for a while. Saw davidsw has a blue dial 5711 for sale for $31,995. Did something change for the price to get this high?

Patek raised the MSRP from $22.5k to $24.8k. For the 5711A, I just put my deposit for early 2018 delivery and when I saw the receipt I said, wait isn't it suppose to be $22.5k? AD Advisor said, Patek raised the prices and what's messed up is that at the time of the delivery of my 5711/1A, if Patek raises the price again, I have to pay the price difference. I'm not locked in at $24.8k even though that's what my deposit receipt says.

5711a blue dial is as liquid as they come. It's money in the bank as well as on your wrist. The watch is always in demand and I don't see t changing any time soon.

Not the case on watches I have purchased in the UK, price rises were applied on PP and Rolex pieces between deposit and delivery.

Hmmmm wow good to know. But I wish it was still $22.5k. But apples to apples I guess, if I can score it at retail and my name on the papers, then it's a win win.

When I bought my 5930 I was concerned there would be a price increase prior to delivery due to weakening pound. I paid in full in May 2016 and AD held the price even though it was 10% more expensive at delivery in December 2016. On shorter lead times this isn't unrealistic but on those over a year it's unrealistic to expect them to do so

The 5711 is great and all, but at 30K? I don't think so. Especially considering the Jumbo trades for ~22k.

If you spend 30k and get a 5711 instead of a 5712 your a nut.
David will find a buyer desperate enough though. |

This is the SS one, right??? I know my PP knowledge is lacking and it is a hot commodity but $30k for a SS watch without complications is just obscene to me. I am with Mike and Paul on this one.

not that easy to get since the wait list could be 2-3 years long and some dealers don't even take wait list anymore due to super high demand and the less qtys that PP makes on a yearly basis.

I was in Paris last week and visited PP salons. I asked for the 5711 and been told that waiting list is 4 years for the blue dial and 2 years for white and they don't take any order. The aquanut 5167 is 2 years waiting list and they agreed to add my name. i may get it few months earlier if I am lucky.

I wonder how true this really is. Sure if a reputable dealer gets one at retail and avoids sales tax, they can sell it for a profit. But what if I buy it at full retail plus tax and no one knows who I am. I doubt I could then sell it for a profit.

Buy the watch from an AD, you tell them to ship it out of state to a relative you trust and tell said relative to ship it back to you, and you'll pay them back for the shipping cost. Paying $200 for overnight shipping + insurance is much cheaper than paying $2,000+ in taxes on a $24.8k watch. |

If were talking the same price for both pieces, then obviously the 5712, but no way I would pay $32k for a 5711. Personally, I would rather get a 15400or on strap, if we were talking this price range.
Depends on your definition of readily available, if you mean in the AD's safe and buy it today, no. My AD stated there was currently no pre purchased VIA deposits for a 5712, so it would be a 1-6 month wait for one. There is a 2 watch allocation for the 5712, just like the 5711, but the two 5711s for 2017 are already presold VIA deposit, one was delivered a few weeks ago. So there is only one left for 2017. |

According to my AD contacts the 5712 is hard to get, although not as hard as a 5711 blue :)
