I know there's not to many NCAA Basketball Junkies on here..
But at 8:15pm EST on ESPN, probably the best game of the year IMO will be starting.
UCLA travels to University of Arizona. A month ago UofA traveled to UCLA and pulled out the victory. Both trying to get a number 1 seed I'm the NCAA tournament in a few weeks. UofA is favored by 1.5 pints should be a a crazy atmosphere in Tuscon. No love loss between these teams. Either one of these teams could beat the worst NBA team There's 4 teams on the West Coast that could take the championship in March, that doesn't happen very often. Nice to see the West Coast start getting great college players. Ok another note, you can watch UNLV get dismantled on CBSSN right now lol

I only know what I hear on sports talk radio (I've never watch a college baskball game from start to finish) and from I heard on Friday, these two teams are playing for #2 behind Gonzaga

I love college basketball - just a shame my team hasn't given me much to cheer about this season!

Badgers slightly underachieving and Heels gaining some momentum. West coast has some teams to be reckoned with

I'd wager on that. Let's add in Gonzaga too.
It'll never happen but it would interesting

I'm heading to Memphis for the South Regionals March 24th. Early predictions show Baylor as the number one there. I was hoping to see Oregon as they have 3 Canadian kids playing. There's 6 of us that just pick a city we want to go to and book tickets every year.
As a Michigan State fan, I don't think I'm going to have a horse in the race this year. The entire Big 10 looks weak to be honest. Love March Madness!!

No. Just been a basketball fan forever and I got a chance to eat dinner and hang out with Coach K during Vegas practices leading up to USA basketball. He is an amazing person. It was very cool. I can remember watching them it the glory days of Laettner and Hurley.
One day I want to make it to a game and be amongst the crazies. One day. |

This was a fairly good discussion after the 1990 championship game when UNLV won and 1991 when they went 34-0 until they got shafted in the final four. Out of 10 games if they played the worst NBA team they might have won 4-5 of the games. That's all I'm saying not just 1 game. And come to think of it that UNLV team would be a monster this year too IMO.
In 1990 they won 4 of their 5 NCAA Tournament games by like 22 points margin, winning the final game against Duke by 30. 3 of the starters went drafted in the first round in the 1991 draft. What's unique then was that those 3 players could've entered the draft in 1990 as first rounders but decided to stay and play 1 more year because of the corruption in the NCAA organization trying to bring down the program. You'll hardly ever see that now as it's all about money and the "I" want factor for the players, not so much about team, a few exceptions now days. I know there's a lot of haters for that team but they were clearly the best for those 2 years and arguably in the top 10 all time. At least the NCAA paid up in at end of that fight..

I used to be a big NCAA basketball fan -- not so much anymore because it's hard to catch the games from Asia.
That said, I highly doubt that any NCAA teams could beat NBA teams. As an example, let's look at last year's winner: Villanova. They were probably better coached than some NBA teams, but the talent level was a lot lower. Of the players who graduated last year, only one is on an NBA roster (and I believe he's on the practice squad). Two other players are in the NBA D-league now. The counter-argument is that Villanova doesn't generally get top recruits. But if their players are so bad, how did they beat Miami, Kansas, Oklahoma and UNC? When Kentucky lost in the 2015 tournament, they didn't look like an NBA team either. There were definitely multiple NBA-caliber players on the team, but on an overall basis, I don't think they were as good as an NBA team. As Mark says, there could have been some NBA caliber teams in the past (i.e. starting 3 future NBA first round picks). But these days it seems that top talents like Kyrie Irving are one-and-done in the college game. |

^^ I don't know but Arizona Wildcats are going up be sick next year. Maybe the year after too if they all stay and stay healthy and out of trouble. They could make a run in the next 3 tournaments
I'll say Allonzo Trier is a freak been a long time since I've send a guard that young with 2 years to play in college that's that good. He's something special. He shots to good to facilitate the ball. But, either way he's a first rounder.

If they can pull off some magic in the PAC-12 tourney, they might have a chance at a #1 or maybe #2.
