I originally wrote off the 5711 and 5712 as my grails because all of my local Patek ADs basically told me I'd never get one due to demand, but now I'm considering it again in hopes that I might be able to find a dealer willing to sell one to someone who hasn't bought Pateks before. I'm having the same dilemma choosing between them (and between either of them and the watches I'd sell to fund the acquisition). The clean, iconic 5711 that highlights the gorgeous blue dial, or the complicated 5712 with micro-rotor for only a bit more money. Tough call! Good luck to you with your choice and with finding one!
