New to omega
Can I ask what are the most sought after pieces in omega space? Something that is equivalent to rolex daytona and AP royal oak?

The Snoopy on the other hand is a huge hit, Snoopy 45 is massive and is harder to get than a SS Daytona (and more expensive). I think the Snoopy 50 will be a big hit and very hard to get as well if you didn’t get your deposit in. Outside of that, I don’t see any current production Omega watches that are hard to obtain. Some say the Bond watch, but I don’t believe it is that difficult if you really looked. There are of course plenty that were limited editions or previous production that you can’t get anymore which are hard to get, but those obviously not being in production anymore are only found on the pre-owned market. Mostly Speedmaster I’d say. Omega is more about quality and availability. I love my Seamaster Professional 300M. |

Current Omega models generating a lot of buzz are the Snoopy and Ed White. However, I wouldn’t say that these or any other Omega model are sought after in the same way as the Daytona or Royal Oak.
The Rolex and AP are “regular” models that are seemingly very difficult to source directly from the AD. Omega, while arguably putting out similar quality to Rolex, don’t really have any regular models that are that hard to buy at retail. Omega also tends to make a whole bunch of variants on their watches, resulting in loads of “limited” editions...these vary in their desirableness in the market. In short, there are lots of excellent Omegas out there that you can buy today. Whether this is a good or bad thing depends on your perspective. I think it’s a good thing. |
