Greetings from Moorestown, NJ.

I hope everyone is safe and healthy.

I just inherited my father’ Rolex from about 1982. It is really sharp for it’s age even though outdated. I will put a picture up asap.

I plan on just displaying it in my bedroom to remind me of him. I am not very familiar with the watch, just what he told me, that it had to serviced through a Rolex dealer.

I hope to get to know everyone.

Dean

Welcome to the forum Dean.

I’d wear that watch if I were you but I understand that you may prefer to have it as a keep sake. To each their own

Welcome! Just my 2 cents, when I inherited my Dads vintage Sub I had Mr Ridley service it and have been wearing it ever since. Makes me feel more connected than if I just had it on display.

Welcome. I too inherited my dads rolex from around the same time period. An old datejust. I say wear it every now and again just to enjoy it. That's what I do. Enjoy.

Could you give me contact information for Mr. Ridley?

Welcome! Sorry to hear about your father.

I grew up in Cherry Hill, and worked in Moorestown for a bit after college

Dean - Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to seeing a pic and welcome to the forum. I bought my first Rolex in 1983 when I was 25. I just gave it to my son last year for his 25th birthday. I really enjoy seeing him wearing it, as I am sure your Dad would you.

They are timeless and never go out of fashion. Wear in good health!

Welcome! I'm practically your neighbor, but I live on the PA side of the Philly burbs. Post up some pics of your dad's watch when you can, I'd love to see it.

Welcome, I would wear the watch. I have a ring that was my grandfathers and then my fathers, I have worn it more or less every day for 25 years and I still think of my Dad when I look at it.
