Reluctant presentation from Switzerland
Howdy yall,
as opposed to what my handle would imply, I am Paul from Switzerland. I've lived in texas a couple of years last millenium, hence the aforementionned handle as I really loved that period. I am kind of reluctantly joining the forum... "reluctantly", because to the significantly older gentleman who sold me one my first vintage Speedmaster a few years back, I casually answered "I will never look into Rolex, not my kinda stuff, Mister, I will not fall for the ultimate marketing product" when he mentionned he was able to bring me the Omega in person because he needed to pick a Yachtmaster in the area. He said "give it a few of years, then let's talk again"... And he was right Net... I've started to fancy a 1675 Pepsi some time ago, but I curbed my own enthusiasm. Then a couple of weeks ago I had lunch with a fellow watch enthusiast, and he was wearing one of the most beautiful thing I had ever seen, a pristine, creamy-lume'd blue snowflake. And that was it - the last barrier has now cracked, and I will not seek any rest until I can get the two timepieces mentionned above At the moment I'm learning the ropes (there are so many...) - what better way to seek advice than to join RF, right? Thanks in advance for you kind help in that journey :) Best, Paul |

Thanks for the welcome, gentlemen. I'm discovering the depth of this wonderful forum at the moment. I was warned that Rolexophiles were pretty "meticulous" when analyzing a watch, but indeed this is insane the level of complexity... and I thought speedmaster enthusiasts were picky...
Still have to find an easy to read source to understand the various 1675 dials, though Because some price differences I am seeing in the market on seemingly comparable pieces, I am really struggling to understand for now More than happy to be pointed in the right direction if someone wants to help... Thank you, Paul |
