Depends but a full service by Omega is around 700 including tax. Some other local repair watchmaker might be able to get it done for 400-500. It might just be something is misaligned now causing a gear or so to not rotate properly. Anywho get it checked out and hopefully your case is okay.

Have you tried pulling the crown and rolling it back and forth to see if it might loosen something up?
Does it wind up and not run? Any further symptoms might help narrow it down. |

The Tachymeter bezel and chronograph is useful in pacing yourself

For quality repair service to you Speedy send it to Nesbit's Service in Seattle, WA. They are an old established family owned company. They are the only service center I ever use for Rolex and Omegas. Cheers, Bill P.

so apparently my balance beam is broken.
i thought the speedy was built like a tank. my bathroom apparently is more treacherous and inhospitable than the lunar surface. |

An instant stop on a marble floor will break any mechanical instrument. Not the Omega's fault really

I agree. I don't recall any astronauts subjecting their watches to that sort of impact. I would guess it landed on its edge and the force of the blow could easily damage the balance...among other things. No watch is built to withstand abuse of that kind. The repair shouldn't be terribly expensive. If it had landed on the front or back, I doubt there would have been an issue. I own about ten vintage Speedmaster Pros/pre pros, and none of them have ever been disappointing with regard to durability.

Justin, if you're ready to unload that fragile watch, I'll give you 500 for it as it is.
