Datejust Year & Bracelet Year Difference?
Hello everyone!
This is one of my first posts here, so I hope you'll bear with me. I own a DJ TT 16013. Its serial number says it was manufactured in 1976. However, the jubilee bracelet is E6, which was manufactured in 1980. The watch came with papers, certificates, original box, and the like... including a Rolex service document from August of 2005. The documents show my watch was purchased in 1982. Would any of you be so kind as to let me know why Rolex would manufacture a watch in 1976 and put a 1980 bracelet on it for sale in the early 1980's? |

Very common issue with vintage watches. Bracelet gets damaged or becomes worn off thus gets replaced with a different one. It's not the main factor to worry about as long as the rest of the watch is fine

Built in 76
Sold in 82 Bracelet is 80 Look at this information. What do you see? In some cases these watches didn’t arrive to the jeweler with a bracelet. In other cases the bracelet was ordered special, like with a jubilee. The difference in dates wouldn’t bother me, it’s likely original - especially if you consider what I just shared. |

The most remarkable part of this to me is that the watch sat in inventory for ~6 years before selling. That sounds like a nightmare for a retail store.
