AD Visit
Hi everyone,
I would like to get your opinions and thoughts. Tomorrow I´m going to visit my local AD where I purchased my RO few months ago. He has three AP for me and maybe one of them will be my x-mas present this year So here are the candidates... 1. 26470SO.OO.A002CA.01 RO Offshore Chrono 2. 26331ST.OO.1220ST.02 RO Chrono BD 3. 26331ST.OO.1220ST.03 RO Chrono WD At the moment I own the RO BD, RO Offshore diver BD and the Rolex Daytona. I want to add that I wear my watches at work (office job) and even sometimes in the gym. So it would be no "safe queen" at all. So just to get a feeling what the "mates" would choose.....I am curious Thanks. |

Care to post some pics? Not all of us have all the model number memorized.

You can't go wrong with any of those.
Going purely off of what I would chose, my ranking would be: 1. Panda dial (white dial, black sub-dials) 2. 42mm offshore 26470SO 3. Reverse panda dial |

Personally I'd go ROC black dial, ROC white dial and then 42mm ROO.
There's a big difference between the ROC and ROO though. The ROC is more 'dressy' and will be more prone to scratches etc than the ROO, so if you're going to wear it in the gym etc and give it a hard life, maybe that's the best option. The ROO also 'wears' bigger. But it would definitely be ROC for me! |

If you have RO black dial already then I would do ROC WD. Then if you want another offshore go with a 44 instead of the 42s.

I’d say go for the new vampire. The ROCs are beautiful and iconic no doubt but I am OCD when it comes to scratches so I’d go CE for sure. I prefer the grey ghost though.

Get the ROO Ceramic bezel
I have seen all of these in the flesh and prefer the ROO ceramic bezel. You already have the SS bezel diver.
The black dial ROC would be my second choice. The ROO ceramic bezel is absolutely stunning in the flesh. It's all of the subtle details in that one that matter including the red outer lining of the strap. |

Given what you already have, I would say the ceramic bezel offshore would be a good addition. I just wouldn't wear it with a suit or dress shirts, but you still have the Daytona and Royal Oak for those situations.

You have a RO and a ROO so just choose whichever you like most, maybe the white ROC fits best in now.

Do you find you wear your ROO or RO more now ?
They are all magnificent options so would be governed more by whether it was a sports or ‘dress’ watch you will get the most incremental wrist time from.

I had that exact choice recently and went with the ROO black/red just to change it up. The ROC is still on my list but that ROO is a new model with the black bezel and just spoke to me at the time. It wears great and I love it. Good luck.

Thanks a lot so far for all your opinions. I appreciate it very much.
My thoughts so far.....I would place the ROC BD an third place because it would be too close to my RO BD. And I am really torn between the other two AP. On the one hand I wear my ROO more than the RO because it seems to be little bit more versatile (wearing suit in the office and casual the rest of the day). On the other hand the panda dial has something classic. I am just not really sure if the ROOC (is it really called vampire in the US?) could be too special in relation that you might can´t see it anymore after a few weeks. Hopefully you know what I want to say..... But I´ve never seen the "vampire" in reality maybe it just blows me away if the salesperson is showing the nice one. |

Love that panda roc! It’s so stunning, especially in person and under different lighting!

I like the panda dial ROC. What about a blue dial ROC?

So here´s my update.
I was there and my AD showed me the models we already discussed. Furthermore I had the opportunity to see the ROC blue and a grey RO Offshore Chrono with titan bezel and a grey strap 42mm, don´t know the ref. Long story short.....first he gave me the "vampire" and what can I say? This model did nothing to me. No "wow" effect or something similar. An nice dial and bezel but the strap.....no...sorry. I would not find any situation where I could wear this in combination with my clothing. The blue and the black ROC are nice but the white ROC was a step above. A real beautiful watch......but it was already for another customer. So we had a longer conversation about AP, Rolex, the watches and so on and we also talked about the 15202. Incidentally I said that this is also a watch that maybe every AP aficionado wants and he said that he would do some telephone calls and we could talk again in January. Do not know what he wants to achieve but as long as I have to wait for the next white ROC I can also wait what he has for me if he did these calls......what ever it will be. He did no promises or something else...so no speculations about any 15202 income in 2019 |

Thanks for coming back and closing the loop. I am wondering if your AD has access to the 15202 when it is a boutique model only? Has he come back with good news?

Hi, thank´s for your interest....no really intersting news for the forum.
After that I visited the boutique a few weeks later just for fun because I ´ve never been there. So I had a nice talk with the sales persons about this and that and also about the 15202 and I was surprised that they knew their colleague from the AD store....and as I mentioned my name they had it already in their data base. But again, I am not a VIP and have only bought the 15400 so I do not expect any surprises at all. |
