We had a very warm welcome (although the security guard kept a very close eye on us the whole time - I blame Dalip! ), and there were some big surprises in store. Firstly, they had the new Basel models in, albeit without movements, which we all had the chance to try on. The new Explorer II is nothing short of sublime, the size is perfect, and looks incredible. The YM II in steel and rose looks far, far better in the flesh, whilst the ceramic Daytona is very pretty indeed. They also had a selection from a private collection with some very interesting vintage pieces, including a perfect red 1680 and the precursor to the original Turn-O-Graph. Unbelievable! Topped off with a meal at the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to with four of the nicest guys you could possibly meet (Dalip, Thomas, Leo and Chris), it was the perfect end to an incredible GTG.

On the train home now feeling a bit worse for wear, but with a big smile on my face. To everyone who attended the GTG, it was a pleasure meeting you and talking to you, and I sincerely hope to see all of you again very soon!

Chris

It was great to meet you Chris, It would be good if I come and visit you some time I had a blast and its just a shame I couldn't have stuck around a little longer!

I can't believe you had the chance to try on the new Basel models I'm INCREDIBLY jealous!

Hope to see you all some time real soon, next time I will hope to stick around longer

Dino

oh okayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy then!!

Christmas (ish?? Late November/Early December) 2011 anyone....??

We'll let the dust & the hangover's settle then we'll get something going yeah...??

& just a thought but I'm happy trekking "oop North" if that suits people next time?
(Having said that I also think London's perhaps easiest for people to get to generally & I really did think The Dickens was pretty spot on........ but I'm just sayin' I'd be equally happy to go along with whatever suited everyone else...... )

Likewise, Dino, you'd be more than welcome - just say the word, and I'll sort something out It was a real treat seeing the Basel models, especially as they're being taken away tomorrow! I just couldn't believe how much stock they had in, though, incredible, especially how many precious metal models they had. I wouldn't mind working there!

The draw wasn't done in the end - unfortunately it was too short notice It'll be coming to a GTG very very soon, though, I'm sure
