First Rolex - DJ II or Milgauss GV?
I'm new to the forums and have found some great information here. I'm deciding on my first Rolex and I think I've narrowed it down to the DJ II, silver dial with arabic numbers, or the Milgauss GV. Does anyone have an opinion that could sway me one way or the other?

My preference is a DJ II, but it really depends on the size of your wrist. Just got a two colour DJ II. Tried on the Mil, and it was too small for me. Have a Submariner LV, which is pretty cool too.

I like the DJII and that would be my choice over that particular Milgauss(white dial is better imo).

I own a TT DJII champagne dial, and so I am biased. The Milgauss looks too cheesy for me with the orange lightning seconds hand. It also is too small. Just my opinion.

tough choice.. if i was you i would try both on for shape and see/ feel how it sits on you. Although they may appear similar i found they wear quite differently

DJ2, definitely. Milgauss is too sporty to fit all the occasions where you'd want to wear your Rolex.

I would say the Milgauss GV (I've just been the biggest fan) but would I agree with everyone else's opinion on the big face DJ 2. The watch will fit any required occasion. Good luck!

I own a DJII two tone black dial with gold romans. I prefer watches that have a date function. I also prefer the size of the DJII, it has a greater wrist presence.

would go the DJII over the Milgauss. The blue dial version is very striking in real life. IMO the white face casual, the black dressy, the blue is just right...

Interesting question.
IMO the DJII is has a dial to bezel ratio that make the dial look small. The GV is the opposite. The dial looks wider compared to the overall watch diameter. I am waiting for the DJII to be released in ss with a smooth bezel and white romans. Hopefully the smooth bezel in this combination will make the dial look a bit larger. GV for me at this time.

Milgauss is the way I would go. I dont think it is a "sporty" watch really and would do well in any scenario.

Milgauss. I owned the white/orange combo for a brief period and loved the way it felt on my wrist. I regret letting it go... I found it works well in with both casual and dress wear.

I vote for the DJ II! I chose that over the Submariner as my first Rolex!

If you want something non traditional then GV is the choice. 40m sits perfect on my wrist.

I think this is the first time I've ever heard people say that the Milgauss was too small....have you guys ever had one on? (seriously not trying to be a jerk)
