Ah, man, this is a bad sign. Four categories to list it in, and no Millie?? The second of your two forever watches, which has only been photographed here fully stickered? Asking questions about lume and modding the bracelet. It’s like you’re talking yourself out of liking it. Are you sure it’s going to make it to your 30th bday? I hope so, for you fiancé’s sake.

I love the watch.

It doesn’t fit specifically in a dressy or sporty category. I chose watches that are more to the point. Technically the milgauss would fit all 4.

The brushed centre links is a personal preference just like someone preferring leather vs bracelet. I’ve seen people mod their grail watches, it’s all personal taste. Also the stickers are off

You’re a little too concerned about this.

Formal - Daytona 116508

Honestly, the thing I like about Rolex watches is that I feel I can wear almost anything from my collection in almost any situation I find myself in.

Whatever you happen to be wearing that day.
No-one will notice so why fret about it.

From my collection:

Formal Sub LB 116613
Sports Sub 114060
Adventure Exp II Polar 16570
Casual Sub 116610LV

I do not own a dress watch but for Rolex dressier watch the Cellini Moon Phase would do , otherwise for a dress watch a PP Calatrava

Rolex from my collection only

Formal DJ/Sky-D
Sport. Sub-C/116600/116500 depending on activity
Adventure GMT IIC/16570 Explorer II (adventure=travel to me)
Casual Any of the above

Add my other watches

Formal. Early ‘60s gold filled Omega Seamaster (my preference for formal)
Sport. Tudor BB S&G/IWC Pilot Chronograph/Omega Speedmaster Pro/Seiko Sea Urchin/Tag w1214
Adventure. Noting to add
Casual. Any of the above, but usually not the Seamaster

Note, if any of the sporting, adventuring or casualing is to be in areas that in my opinion, are likely to be more prone to theft, likely the Seiko 5 or Tag will be worn.

Good taste! The Yachtmaster II on Rubber B is a winner for sporting events.
