I think any Rolex has wrist presence. In my mind, that's simply how something looks on your wrist...and all Rolex watches have a way of distinguishing themselves, IMO. From 36mm to 44mm, they definitely make a statement on one's wrist.

As far as which one between these two, I think they both make their statement in different ways, the CHNR with color and the Sky with size and fluted bezel. I'm not sure I could make the call which one has "more," though.

Objectively speaking, I personally think the TT CHNR has more "wrist presence" from the lens of the everyday universe of people (among WIS'ers is a totally separate topic).

That being said -- they are both amazing watches and neither is a bad decision!

I love my Sky-Dweller. I have two GMT Masters - a BLNR and a 116713. My black dial Sky-Dweller gets my vote easily.

Black SkyD has in your face beauty. The CHNR is much more subtle. I thing It is truly a thing of beauty.

Old thread! I ended up going with the CHNR. It's gorgeous. I just can't get over the fact the SD looks like a little bigger Datejust (and we are only talking 2mm....so not much bigger) and basically $18k or so if you want it now. It didn't help that no one has one in the dealers to try on. The fluted bezel tapers down in height.....so I'd bet the SD actually wears smaller due to this (versus the GMT or Sub....where the dial is the same height all the way across).

I don't feel Rolex did any favors making the inner dial basically the same color. If it were white or contrasted....it would have made the watch look better.

The SD definitely has more wrist presence. The 42 mm case and fluted bezel stand out. And no, I don’t need a definition of wrist presence. I’m happy to use my own.

That said, if you can swing the RG CHNR, stay away from the TT, I believe you will find the west presejce that you are looking to achieve. I know I did.

Sky dweller unless you’re going full PM gmt. TT is useless.

I have to be honest.....the fluted bezel doesn't do it for me like I thought it would. It surprised me. I tried a DJ and I don't know.....I get it catches the light and sparkles...but not more than gold. The 42mm isn't big, either, by today's standards.....I just think the CHNR colors do it for me whereas the black SD is just another SS black-dialed watch. That's why I would have loved a contrasting dial like the gold SD versions with black dial.

And, yes, the 116718 is/was my grail.....but I am thinking of hopefully swinging for the full RG instead once prices stabilize. Just not sure I want to throw out $12k more on the full RG versus the full YG.

Be serious. We all aren't paying $10-20k for wristwatches solely because we like the "history of Rolex"....and definitely not if you have a modern Rolex model. It may not be diamond watch wrist presence (which I also don't want).....but if you think ANY Rolex doesn't have some sort of large wrist presence, you are mistaken.

I think skydweller would impress others in the boardroom. CHNR more likely to impress young hot women. Depends on what you’re looking for.

The sky dweller is surprisingly thick. It wears much larger than a 42mm speedmaster pro.
