Hoping to learn more about this watch ...
I'm hoping someone on this forum can help me learn something more about this watch, beyond its being a Deville, presumably bought at Turler in Switzerland (?). And, possibly, any recommendations on where to get it restored?
20150627_072822.jpg 20150626_110020.jpg A little background ... my father bought this for my mother when he first visited Switzerland in 1968 - '69. Based on what my parents have told me, those were financially difficult times for them, with having to support an extended family. Coming as it did about five years after they were married, this would have been the first "nice" gift my father would have been able to get her. Growing up, I remember my mother wearing it proudly. At some point in the last 12 years or so, deteriorating health prevented her from wearing this (or any watch), until her passing 5 years ago. Over the years, the watch has been serviced and maintained, not always by Omega authorized service centers, until upkeep of the watch could no longer be high priority. Fast forward to today: Clearly, I will hold onto this watch for all its memories. However, it would be even better if new life could be breathed into it. This year happens to be my eldest sister's 25th wedding anniversary and she turns 50. It just seems to be the perfect opportunity to present her the perfect gift (we are a close knit family). Thank you for reading. Any help will be appreciated. Depending upon what I hear here, I will take it to Omega itself or some watchmakers locally. |

Hello Sir
Turler is a well known watch dealer in Zurich at Bahnhofstrasse with a long history, maybe that helps a little bit. Eventually you could contact these people directly, Best from Switzerland Tom |
