Omega Speedmaster Professional 3572.50 – Power Reserve

Hello All,

Last week I purchased a pre-owned Omega Speedmaster Professional 3572.50. Absolutely love the watch! It is a keeper for sure.

However, over the course of the week I have noticed that the watches power reserve is around 17 hours. On the Omega website it says the watch has a power reserve of 48 hours. The watch is definitely not even close to that power reserve.

http://www.omegawatches.com/collecti...watch/35725000

So with my power reserve being that low, does that mean my watch needs to be serviced? I also it takes around 15 or so twists of the crown to fully charge (until there is tension) the watch. Is that normal? When the watch is ticking it keeps good time.

Thanks for any help!

Ryan

Not normal. It needs attention/service.

Definitely need to have it checked out, as it should take 40-42 full rotations to wind the mainspring, and I've never had a Speedy Pro (out of 7) that lasted less than 39 hours, even with the chrono function going.
Get it checked out asap.

As a comparison, my 3570.50 winds fairly smoothly until fully wound where it firms up and will wind no more. Power reserve just shy of 48 hours.

Sorry everyone. False alarm. This is my first manual watch.

I was educated to wind the watch to the brake. I was just winding till I got some tension in the crown. With a full wind the power reserve last 52 hours. However winding the crowd to the brake takes about 50 turns. Had to change hands because my fingers were getting raw.

Ok.

I was thinking broken mainspring but yeah, you need to fully wind it!

If it is that difficult, the barell may need to be lubricated (I. E. it needs service.)

Wind it every morning or evening at part of your routine and it will be ready to go!
