Hello...now help me decide.

First let me say hello. I've been a lurker for quite a while now and enjoy browsing on this forum.

Let me first start by saying that I am an Omega FREAK!! I've always loved the Planet Ocean series. From the calibre 2500 to the current 8500. They are just awesome.

I have finally reached the point in my life where I'm ready to take the plunge and get my first real timepiece. After lots of researching and countless trips to the A.D. I have narrowed my selection down to just a couple. I believe that the watch I will be buying is either the Omega Chronograph 9300 or the Omega 8605 GMT. Both watches are unique in their own way and I'm not going to go into the differences because you all know what there are. My question to members on this board is which one would you choose?

I look forward to the discussion that ensues and everyone's answers. I know that either watch I choose will be a great watch, just don't want to have any regrets.

Thanks Dave

GMT feature is more useful than the chrono IMO.

Also, I tend to like the 43.5 mm size of the GMT versus the 45.5 chrono.

Good luck.

I would go with the GMT. It wears much better. Ultimately, it's up to you. If you really love them both, don't worry: you will own them both some day. That's how this sickness works.

I went with this...the 43.5 size was perfect.

9300 chronos are great
But the large case on the PO is a biggie
I like the gmt shot above
I saw a PO chrono on a guy in line at Costco and it was very cool and very gaudy

I get more use out of the GMT feature than the chrono.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Seems like the unanimous decision is the GMT, but I believe that I'm going with my gut on this one and going with the 9300. The biggest problem that I'm facing between the two is I've only tried on the 9300 and I liked the way it fit my wrist. I'm a big guy, 6'6" and have large wrists so the chunky-ness is not a problem.

Now the hunt begins and I will be searching the for sale part of this forum until I find my perfect watch.

Well my gut was wrong...because I went with the GMT. After many sleepless nights and really thinking about which would be more practical, I decided on the GMT. I have always loved the orange numbers on the dial so I went with that model. I'm really excited and probably won't sleep tonight because I'll be thinking about unboxing it tommorrow. Pictures to come and thanks again for the replies. I believe a pledge donation is in order.

Just got this beauty in. Pictures don't really do it justice. Thanks for all the persuasion from the members.
