Congratulations, OP. My favourite diver!

My advice would be to wear a beater at work and keep the SD43 on the bracelet. YMMV.

Unless you really like rubber just wear it on the bracelet. You're not going to beat it up beyond small surface scratches - us desk divers inflict some damage every day (and a macbook with aluminum case certainly scratches right on the clasp.)

OTOH it would look great on RubberB as well. Comfort & appearance would mean more to me than protecting the bracelet.

I’d go with Rubber B if I have any reason to get a rubber strap for my SD

Long time Deep Sea owner, both of them, but I tried on one of these the other day and think I can pull it off. I have 8 1/4 inch wrists so I always thought I could never go smaller than 44mm. I own an IWC Big Pilot and it hit me the other day, I'm tired of huge watches. The Sea Dweller felt like I was wearing nothing but was substantial enough so I knew it was there. I don't like light watches. Told my AD to get me one. They're on Chrono24 for about $1K over retail but I'll just wait, looking forward to it. Think I can even wear it while I sleep. Congrats!

Definitely wait. I thought the same thing regarding they aren't much higher on chrono, but I absolutely refuse to buy a watch from a flipper. Just refuse. The only way I ever would is for an older watch, i.e. 1975 Red Sub.

I love this thing! I may try to wear it in my sleep tonight lol.

Question 1: What do you guys use to resize the photos? I tried to post photos and failed miserably.

Question 2: I'm an ER nurse and would love to wear my watch at work, but don't want to bang up the bracelet. Was thinking of putting it on rubber. Any recommendations to which rubber is the best. Insert jokes here hahah.

Thank you all in advance.
Bang up the bracelet! Adds to the patina. It's a tool watch made to get dinged. Enjoy! I love mine.

Just wear it for chrissakes.

Remove extension, wear the hell out of it. Repeat.

The bracelet can take anything you could possibly throw at it.

Thank you and THANK YOU! Haha, I'm an ER nurse now and I can't figure out what's worse, the ER or the 3 tours in Iraq I did as a Navy Corpsman lol.

I couldn’t disagree more, you’re buying a new, valuable shiny watch so obviously you want to keep it that way.
I was born on a farm and always had “tool” land rovers but obviously didn’t want it beaten up, look after it as it’s valuable and keep it looking as good as new as much as possible.
Protective stickers can be your friend, always my friend on any valuable watch

If you can get a SD43 Mk1 for a reasonable price grey I suggest you go for it, otherwise wait for your AD for a Mk2. Just my opinion

I am trying to hold out for new from Boutique. We bought a DJ recently from him so I am hopeful. Mark up is too much for NIB from flipper. Want to avoid preowned if I can. I am getting impatient. I just bought an Apple Ultra for work and running. Hope it will keep me occupied for a while. Really love the SD 43.

Rubber B is a terrific alternative to the bracelet. It wears lighter and more comfortable as well. Love mine.

Did you pull the clasp from your OEM bracelet?

I kind of want to try this but would rather have an extra clasp to keep on the RubberB. Somehow I don't see Rolex selling me only the clasp...

Congrats on the SD!

Just wear it. Why worry about the bracelet? Why take off the most amazing bracelet known to man for a slab of rubber?

I used the deployant clasp from the bracelet, but they do also sell a tang buckle version of the same strap.

I was concerned about how much time/effort would be involved in switching over the clasp, but it's actually pretty easy as long as you have the correct size screwdriver.

I have really enjoyed it. It just completely changes the character of the watch. Much more casual and fun vibe on the strap and very comfortable.
