Photos- Help me pick! Datejust 36- White vs Black Diamond

Hello all- please help me pick my first Rolex- options are Datejust 36 White Roman or Black Diamond. AD did not have the Rolex for Black Diamond for me to try on, so we substituted a Tudor watch that looks similar for comparison. Let me know what you think!

DaTEjust, not Dayjust. Noticed this is the second thread you are calling it a Dayjust, so just want to correct.

To answer the question, I'd go with white.

Definitely the Two-Tone w/White Roman Dial.
Looks much more elegant on your wrist in comparison to the substitute Tudor al day long.

Don’t know what your eyesight is like but the dark face is much easier to read the time.

The black dial pops more! I have a black DJ 36 on order. Also, I hate Romans. Stick markers are more elegant, IMO.

As a matter of fact, I told him I’ll take whichever comes in first, but SS, not TT. I did try on the diamond dial, at the AD. Now I’m thinking that mint green dial is sweet. That particular color is harder to get, though.

All personal preference (obviously) but I far prefer the look of the white dial on you.

The White just looks Classic / Classy … and it looks great on you.

Easy pick for me … White DateJust

PS … The 36mm is a great size / fit on your wrist.

Hmmm … Now I’m rethinking the 31mm DateJust w/ Pink Dial, that I ordered for my girlfriend.

PSS … If you can walk out of the store with the White Dial vs. waiting on the Black … that solidifies my pick for the White Dial.

There’s an old saying in buying watches …

“A watch available in the store is way better than 100 watches on order.”

I’ve been waiting for nearly a year for my girlfriend’s DJ w/ Pink Dial.

I prefer the white

It’s a shame Rolex don’t do light diamond faces on the 36mm

Sounds about right, but it will be worth the wait. I need that year to sell off a bunch of watches, in order to pay for a second new Rolex, and I did wait a full year for my 2 1/2 week old 36 mm OP.

First, buy what YOU want, not what others are telling you. Buying because of something someone here told you is going to leave you with a lot of regret if you decide you don't really like it later.

Beyond that, my own choice between the two would be the white dial.
