Questions needing help.. considering WG GMT but prices coming down on VC Overseas DT

So I’ve been wanting one of these watches, and of course they’re both coming down to similar price points. I could sit here and list the reasons I have for both but would love to hear y’all thoughts. Yes, I know this is a Rolex forum but still asking anyways. Thank you!

If I had the money I’d be more tempted by the Overseas.

I love that the overseas comes with 3 straps and you can easily change, it’s one of my favourites and I’ve been watching them. Looks like you save some good money buying a couple year old one also.

Blue dial WG GMT? I prefer gold over steel especially at similar price point. But I’ve never been into VC.

Here is the watch in question. OP, you’re going to get skewed answers here. In my mind there is no question. IMO, The VC is a vastly superior watch. The quick change bracelets/straps are especially compelling.

GMT

Don’t care for that VC, the am/pm at 9 is poorly executed imo.

I do like the bracelet versatility though.

Yes I’m aware of the skewing of answers, but figured there would be some reading behind the choices made.

I’m in the same boat as you, I think the VC is superior, however the white gold is quite compelling, and the Pepsi will match my vintage one.

I have a bat gmt. The VC dual time is on my list to get. You can have both! Seriously the great thing about the VC is the quick change strap system. It allows many different looks for the watch. Is the DT VC OS worth 30K? Debatable for sure as it's in steel, but it looks great!

100% the WG GMT! Both blue and meteorite are great! I choose the meteorite.

The VC is amazing. Had the DT blue but didn't feel great on wrist. In 2023 they did some tweaks to design of bracelet / connections. Mine was maybe 2021. The leather and rubber straps flared out too much for me and I didn't bother really using them. Besides, I loved the bracelet. Has a micro-adjust mechanism that is basically pressure / friction-based rather than mechanical. Rolex has better / sturdier system. I'd take VC again anytime; hunting a bit again. Miss it. Favorite is still Gen 2 three-hander. Enjoy whatever you do! All good choices!

You should go for the one you love the most.

Secondary market price for VC Overseas dual time is cheaper than MSRP now.

Point to note - if going grey, most of the stock will be 7900 and not 7920 yet.

I had the 7900 and tried on the 7920 at the boutique. Newer version is 1mm thinner with thinner bracelet and taper. Makes a huge difference on the wrist.

Agreed but OP didn’t state their wrist size so it may or may not be a problem for them.

I liked the looks of the Overseas, bought one. It is better in person and on the wrist. 'Now one of my absolute favorites. I have a dozen watches and sometimes look them over to see if perhaps I can part with one or two of them. The VC is always on the Must Have side of the line.

You are comparing a PM watch to a SS that is significantly overpriced for what it is to me. The WG GMT all the way. Leave out the service times and costs on the VC and the poor resale value, the GMT is a better looking watch to me.

Price aside, which appeals to you the most? The VC is a great watch.
I prefer the overall looks and durability of the GMT though.

I would love to own that VC.

However I think the full white gold alone is enough to turn me. I have two WG gmt and I would say they wear comfiest out of all of the PM models.
