oops, I'm sprung. I just realised my screen grab above also shows 3 watches in "My Selection" (ie. the Rolex Wish List).
I better not let the wife see that!

Be prepared for a bill in the very pricey neighborhood to include not just the insert but the gold bezel itself ! The insert is nested "precisely" in the bezel "frame" itself. And topping off that its made from gold - its guaranteed to be dented and out of round - prolly necessitating replacement of the bezel itself. Uninsured owners face the bottom line at = $2,000.oo give or take a few Franklin's... Sad - just sad

Yikes! That's a costly accident! Then again, for a watch that costs $8k, any replacement part is bound to be expensive! :-(

One more reason to always wear your watch. Wrist is the safest place for a watch.

Wow, terrible news. Though it makes me feel a little better and some what justifies my uber extreme carefulness with my own ceramic Sub. At least in my mind it does. :)

$500 for the insert, $500 more for a service, possibly another $1500 for a Bezel.
Rough day. I just wear mine, on my wrist, or in the box in the drawer. I don't even like to take any of them off over stone or ceramic tile. Good luck man. Shame about the insurance too. Maybe this post will help some others recognize the risk, and at least consider insurance.
