GMT click spring issue

Hi guys I am new to the forum. I posted this question to the general forum yesterday but didn't get any responses. I thought maybe I would have better luck here.
My issue: I just replaced the bezel click spring on a 16713 GMT and am having a problem getting it to stay in place. I used a genuine new style, longer click spring but the spring pops out of place after a couple of "clicks" of the bezel.
The insert that came with the watch is aftermarket and I am looking for a new one at the moment (I would like a genuine insert). My questions is, does the insert push the spring down? I am hoping that is the reason that the spring is popping out. Basically, will a proper insert "hold" the spring in place?
The only other reason I can think of that the spring is popping out is either because the bezel itself is aftermarket (I am not sure if it is genuine or not) or there is too much wear on the teeth of the bezel. While I do detect a little bit of wear on the teeth I don't feel it is enough to cause the spring to consistently pop out after a couple of clicks.
Any help is appreciated!

You maybe should try with the old type of spring, the shorter one. the teeth should also be lubricated with fomblin grease. Normally on a genuine bezel the insert would not be in contact with the spring but in your case maybe it is the issue. Better to find an original bezel instead of aftermarket parts
