Help with this vintage DJ with Tiffany dial

Hi experts. Could someone help me with this Tiffany dialed DJ. I would like to know if this dial is original or possibly aftermarket add on. I know Tiffany dials are one o the most forged dials out there. Thanks for your input.

Also is the asking price reasonable? as I am have not see many for sale so hard to gauge pricing. Based on what I can see the case, bezel and lugs are really beat up. Thank you in advance.

Unless there is original paperwork or a receipt stating that it was originally a watch purchased from Tiffany then there is no way to determine if that mark is original. If no paperwork then it is just an altered dial IMO. The price is about double what it should be for its condition unless the seller can show the Tiffany provenance.

I'm not sure. There are certain idiosyncrasies to original ones. Look online at ones with paperwork and compare.

Like Matt said, I would advise as well, one must tread very cautiously without paper work when it comes to these dials. Anyone can claim it without paperwork. Having one with paperwork increases the value tremendously hence the reason for the paperwork.
I hope works out for you anyway you go but I would stray away. Nothing against the seller, just my opinion.

Pass... and the case is a disaster. Simply put - no Tiffany store receipt, no deal. There are also some specific items which are part of these original sets which cannot be purchased outside of spending the money to obtain an authentic Tiffany retailed Rolex.

Ya Tom. Good choice. No one here is knocking you or the watch, just better safe than sorry especially when it comes to Tiffany dial that are document sensitive.
