Btw Dan, Jeff, where did you'll source those SS Rolex buckes from? Are they 16mm?
Bought mine on ebay at a great price. Really have to study them as there are many fakes. Yes, 16mm is the largest buckle Rolex made. The taper from 20mm to 16 adds to the comfort and vintage charm.

Thanks Dan, they sure add character to the strap!

It's always the little things that add a lot.

I don't mind NATO and Maratac etc....

but I can't do the leather thing....it just doesn't match up right.

I do however, like the look of patina with the suede type strap the 1680 is on in the first page.

I've been wearing this on leather the past two weeks.

Have to say I still think all sports watches look wrong on leather compared to bracelets or natos. Gold watches are ok though...

I went and bought them at my Rolex dealer. Was about a 5 week wait as they were back ordered. $65 Canadian dollars. Yes they are 16mm.
My watchmaker put them on.

I think a sports strap should have a little stitching for some contrast.

Quick and dirty shot of my red sub on one of Jed's leather straps. I think it's a great look. Vintage dive watch on patina'ed leather. Panerai aesthetics on a Rolex! :-)

Gents:

Thank you for all the pics. I'm thinking of possibly picking up one of those vanilla straps by Jed. We'll see. Still not fully convinced, but possibly getting there!

I got a Jed strap. Love it. It's perfect but sometimes I have trouble getting the springbars to click into the slots. Takes me a lot of movemebt for them to click Any advice? Rich

One more shot today - this time vintage suede on my 'beater' 5513. She cleans up real nice on some leather.

Hope all are good.
