Official COSC certificate

Anyone actually get one and what does it look like for their Omega watch

There is a pic of a COSC certificate in this article (Click on the pic in the article to enlarge it). It would then be filled out with the maker's name (e.g. Omega) and serial number of the case + the timing results of course.

Chris,
Here is what the certificate looks like: They give you a lot of numbers for different positions and temperatures, so I suppose you could use it to store your watch at night to give you the best accuracy.

I do not believe that Omega is providing them anymore but you could contact them at afterservice@omega.com

I noticed that the signature on the certificate that I showed and the one shown above is identical? Otherwise, the timing results show that the certificates are not the same.

So is this a coincidence? The same person having signed two different certificates? Or does ONE person sign ONE cosc certificate, the certificates then being copied includig the signature??

Mine has the same signature on it.

I think it is a pre-printed standard sheet that is completed with the actual data for your watch when you request the certificate from Omega.

To further support that idea: On my certificate it says "Testing completed on: 13/07/2006" and to the left of the signature it says "23/03/2007" (that is a few days after I requested the certificate). So the certificate clearly wasn't printed immediately after testing.

Morten

A few months ago I contacted Omega in Switzerland asking for the COSC certificate and had no problems. They were very helpful and I had it within a couple of weeks and was not charged a thing, just a great service.

Mine was tested on 03/02/2005 and printed out on 19/12/2007

This is a little off topic but Breitling provide a COSC certificate with every watch you buy.

Was wondering how specifically did you go about getting the certificate and had you previously sent the watch to Switzerland to be tested or was it tested before it was sold?

Hi Larry,

The movements are tested before the watch is ever cased. You can ask for the certificate on Omega's customer service page. I just filled in the fields in the "contact us" page.

Hi Larry
they are tested when manufactured and details are recorded and archived with them, they just fill out the certificate for you on request. Good luck

Perdu, you are on the money.

Omega emailed me stating that as of August 1, 2008 there is a charge to secure the COSC Cert.

As of today's date (December 11, 2009) the cost is Swiss Francs 50.
