Hello All
I have been reading here for quite some time and thought I would say hello finally! My wife and I are Rolex owners who really enjoy the fine movements and the intricacy involved. I have learned so much already from TRF, and am looking forward to reading more.

Thanks for the kind welcome! I wear a Submariner Date as my daily watch and my wife wears a ladies Presidential 18K YG as her daily watch. Her birth stone is a diamond, so over the years we have added 302 diamonds to hers. 99% of people don't notice it on her, so it is really subtle surprisingly.
I don't like yellow gold or diamonds but I also have a YG Presidential that I never wear and intend to sell or trade. My favorite watch of all time is a Bond Sub, but it is out of my price range, so I am looking for a 5513 or non COSC certified sub (14060M) with a NATO band on it. My wife thinks its silly to have 2 subs, but I cant take advice from someone with a diamond encrusted dial. In any case, I hope to learn a lot more about vintage subs and finally make the move to replace the Presidential. |

Hi Rockclimber, Welcome to TRF
Excellent taste in Rolex there my friend I too had a YG DD which I wore for the first six months of ownership, then decided to pop it in the safe and sold a few years later after a service :-) I think you should pop into the Vintage Section and have a chat with the guys and Gals there Enjoy, Dave.

Such a warm welcome, I am used to car camaraderie but I am surprised with the enormous amount associated with watches. What can I say, you all have great taste!
R1@160: The Sub Date is my favorite Rolex at this point in my life. I am a Bond fan, so it was the natural watch for me. I could wear one as a daily watch for the rest of my life and be content. I like the older models more than the newer ones, too much writing on the dial for me, but other than that it is the perfect watch. |
