Meanwhile over in For Sale land.....

Still seeing Subs going for close to $13k. Are people really still paying that or are sellers just being hopeful and stubborn? You see that when the real estate market takes a downturn. It takes sellers a while to come to grasp with the new market.

I mean they are being listed for that. I know 2 individuals who very recently bought a 124060 (gently used) and a NIB 126610LN. 124060 was couple hundred dollars less than what he would have paid for MSRP + state tax at an AD. 126610 was $300 more than MSRP + state tax.

These days a lot of greys are only offering purchase credit unless the piece is rarefied air status. I would negotiate and be prepared to do without if need be.

Hope springs eternal. And "asking price" seldom is "the lowest price at which you can buy it" when it comes to used/gray dealers.

The new car business is similar. They try to get the most they can for each unit. Some customers are better negotiators than others and pay less. And some are TOO aggressive and don't buy at all because their notion of a "fair price" does not comport with the range in which the dealer will work.

These businesses differ, however, that with respect to used / gray watches the cost basis can very widely . . . so different dealers have more vs. less room than others.

You still cannot walk into an AD, unknown, and buy a SS Sub. Most places you cannot even get on the list. If you want one now, as a one and done, the used market looks pretty good at the moment.

Still seeing crazy prices for 12 series Subs on the secondary. I kind of use subs as a benchmark and i'm still seeing $13-14000 Dates out there.

Na. No one in their right mind is paying that much for sub dates.
