Decided to go for a lunch time ride with my brother, on Friday before the big Easter weekend makes it impossible to travel on the roads nearby because of all the different Harley rolling roadblocks in the area.

These rides are routinely 200 plus miles as we both don’t feel like putting on all the kit unless we’re get some decent seat time. Instead of splitting up at our usual point, I followed him into town to visit with my daughter. She’s due to deliver her baby the following week.

I called her with no answer, so I decided to call my daughter’s mom, my ex-wife. Still no answer. Shortly thereafter, my son calls me and tells me his mom’s calls to me don’t go through, (apparently, I “accidently” blocked her number), and my daughter is at the hospital with contractions 1 minute apart.

So, I stop by thinking this is happening soon. It happened sooner than it could have I guess, but a 4-hour ride turned into a 13-hour odyssey, by the time I got home, with the delivery of my first grandchild. All in all, a pretty good day.
