Just keep asking from the same AD. Just wait and be patient.

Emailed my AD the day it was released. Received it in January, the following year of its release. No deposit needed.

Ordered it and got a call eventually. I speak specific for white dial.

There is no list, but an order book, and the small ADs can’t really have a list when they hardly get stock in unlike the larger ADs.

That said, it depends if the dude likes your face, but I do understand their reluctance for someone new to them due to the flipping market.

That's awesome. It's all about having the right connections.

I bought one SS Daytona white face in early 1999 and one black face SS Daytona in 2000, then a white gold black face (sold), then a ceramic black face ceramic SS just after it was released, all from the same AD.

How did you acquire your SS daytona?

I bought my used mint 116520 from a well-known grey on here right when the 500C came out. Couldn’t be happier with the sub $9k mark. Watch was complete set and almost brand new condition.

The first Rolex a purchased was the non ceramic Black dial in 2009 , I walked into my local AD and asked about a ceramic GMT , he asked if i was interested in a Daytona , when I said yes he asked me which colour as he had both in the safe.
I was back a few month later for the GMT and now have 13 Rolex including the Pepsi , Hulk , Batman and the ceramic Daytona .

Most of these success stories happened during the Great Recession when buying was a lot easier. But that’s when you really wanted to focus on real estate, not watches.

Got mine two months ago when my AD sent me a WhatsApp message to hurry over as she had a white dial Daytona for me.

I had told her I wanted one and was prepared to wait as long as it took. I waited around 9 months. Paid full retail.

Six months earlier, she rang me and offered me the red lettering SD43, also at full retail.

I'm now waiting for the new GMT 2.

I hired a private detective to snoop on my AD. He got some pictures of the AD in a compromising position with a troop of cheerleaders, and suggested that I show them to his wife. The AD called it blackmail, and threatened to call the police. Then I whipped out some other pictures of him selling a two tone datejust WITH THE STICKERS STILL ATTACHED, and with the warranty card included. I casually mentioned Rolex would be interested in these, and the next thing I know he emerges from the safe with a handful of ceramic ss Daytona’s!!

SS Daytona

My AD is an advertising client. One day killing time before a meeting in the boutique about 3 years ago, I suddenly inexplicably fell in love with a white 6520 on display and when the gals said prices were going up by a 1K in the next month I was sold. Bought it on the spot back of house after our meeting. Fast forward 3 months and I’m killing time again before my next sales call and they have another on display now 1K cheaper😂 I half jokingly complained to the owner and got some very cool Rolly consolation swag but in the end, with the current pricing levels one of my best buys.

I have been very lucky to get on a waiting list for the watch at another local AD, but i have no hope of ever getting the call.

Took me 15 years of patience. I would keep checking in from time to time, but never felt like it was life or death that I had it on the wrist. I had other great watches to wear in the interim. I think that urge to get it right away is understandable, but is more fueled by marketing, reading the forums. Lol, and lack of appreciation for the current pieces one has.

Wife’s a doctor, AD was a patient... Asked if they could get me one to celebrate our sons birth and had a white dial in two weeks...

At my Local AD

Me: You have any SS Daytona’s?

Salesman: Sorry, it’s the most sought-after, limited, rare…..blah blah…I can put you on waitlist.

Another saleslady across the counter: Aren’t you a returning client?

Me: Yes

Salesman: Big grin on his face. I have a pair in the back for you to take a look at

Me: Pulled out my CC and walked out with a SS Daytona. $12k at the time

i was talking to the salesman at my local ad who sold me 2 watches previously. he put me on the list for the 116500, then casually told me he was selling his own 2014 116520 white dial. i'm glad i bought it because the ad lost their rolex dealership last month, so no 116500 for me!

Walked in, asked if they had one, he said they did. I bought it. Helped to have bought a Ladies rolex previously for my wife.
