What are your GMT Alternatives? ..

So while I wait for a BLRO to fall out of the sky and onto my lap, i'm curious what others have purchased that meets that same itch of a BLRO ..

The obvious answers (Tudor GMT), and a vintage pepsi, are well .. obvious .. looking for other suggestions beyond those two.

The Polar Exp2 is a really nice piece. That'll scratch the itch if you need a 4th hand.

I have an Explorer Polar. I don't need three time zones. I wouldn't mind a BLRO or CHNR because they are so iconic, but the Polar is a superb watch. And a bit left field. It certainly doesn't look like anything else in my collection.

I'm sorry but the Explorer just doesn't do it for me, I mean seriously it looks like a Swatch. the colour combo doesn't fit and it really just tells the time compared to the timezones of a GMT. For me, Rolex can scrap that watch from the line-up, it's not Rolex worthy.

As to any GMT replacements, there are none, that's why you like the GMT. To get rid of the itch for a few months look at AP or Panerai, Omega.

I think the Blusey beats it. But it's close.

If you're looking for a non-Rolex, "true" GMT...

Look at Seiko/Grand Seiko and Omega.

I think I've been brainwashed. I do look at these and others. Then I think "yeah, but it's not a GMT Master".

I do have a Speedie. Nice but not in the same league.

Harry , you are right , it is also very beautiful , Bluesy is a true classic TT .. But IMO , when you compare with the CHNR , i don't know how to say in English , let me try , it is more glittery then the CHNR . My vote will be for CHNR . Probably it will be my 4th Rolex on the list.

I own both a GMT Master (116710LN) and a Speedmaster. Of course they are not in the same league--the Speedy is a chronograph!

I mention Omega and Grand Seiko because they are the only brands (to my knowledge) that offer "true" GMT movements.

Yeah. I hear you. Just going for a bit of lightheartedness.

I think I will have a CHNR one day. There is something very alluring about it. Blacksun - I understand exactly what you mean.

Sold my GMT BLNR a few years ago, didn’t care for the design, purchased and Explorer II 42mm white Dial, love the Explorer II. It wasn’t the best financial decision in retrospect, but I much prefer the Explorer II Polar to any of the GMT variants.

They went on sale already and sold out. I've seen a few for sale and they are usually marked up.

I'm going to get a Bamford London GMT as a traveller/beater when the black model is back in stock. They do a couple of models with two tone bezels.

Couldn't agree more. I used to HIGHLY dislike two-tone watches until I saw the CHNR.
