Rudeness or people who aren’t polite for no good reason.

Whether it’s in person, in business or a customer, if they're rude or obnoxious then you go down in my estimation of you as a human being.

Ok, so two things happened to me just this evening that brought this thread to top of mind:

I was in the check out at a variety store and the line is 5 people deep. The customer being served is playing lottery ticket after lottery ticket and oblivious to the rest of us waiting

Then, I leave the store and walk head on into the “automatic door that didn’t open

In summary: people who play lottery tickets in busy line ups, and automatic doors that aren’t working

Well said...I will def use that terminology.

"Slave" is when someone owns another. Pretending that the definition of "Employee" is synonymous with the definition of "Slave", and then taking issue with a word based on your own erroneous, mis-applied definition seems contrived.

Are there other words that you substitute definitions for and then hate?

Much like a trophy for every snowflake.
That's not how she felt so now she is staff. Noone else in the office cared either way.
It must be strange to be someone like her who is ignorant of word definitions and goes around feeling offended or demeaned based on imaginary slights, expecting the world (including her own employer) to tiptoe around their desire to play a victim at every opportunity.

Not wanting to be referred to as an "employee" even when that's what one is sounds like a precious/ignorant/hyper-sensitive snowflake thing indeed.

Could be worse, could have demanded to be called a team member.

Yeah actually...I’m thinking of one now...it’s douche bag but I don’t hate the word; I’m more amused by it. I’m well aware of the difference between “slave” and “employee”. My 85 team members also don’t like being referred to employees either; my philosophy of creating a “team approach atmosphere” where it’s a group of individuals working together towards the same goal has earned our company the Best Places to Work award 5 years and counting. I’ll stick with my team members on this one.

Whiners

My wife

People who drive in the left lane and don’t move over when you get up on their ass

People who are rude to retail workers...I mean retail team members

People who let their kids be rude to retail team members

When I’m expecting really good take out and get home and queue up the idiot box and the food stinks

People who take their sweet time picking out scratchies from the 55 choices on the wall when there’s a line, and the just don’t care

People who take my spot in the parking lot. It’s the one in every supermarket or store I go to up front usually right next to handicap parking

People who park in handicap parking but don’t need it (except for at a football game...they seem to have plenty there so bringing your dad or moms pass is acceptable here

Women who look right past or through me at a bar...ya that’s all of ya

A waitress who touches her face, nose and hair a lot while taking my order

People who make lists about things that annoy them

People who have no regard for others' time.

Spelling "their" as "there".

And a few others already mentioned within this thread.

Lmao. This was laugh out loud funny.

And fwiw, I ALWAYS refer to people as one of my “team”. I don’t like the word employee or for that matter, I don’t much like boss either.

cliques and cliquey people

i detest cliques, you find them all over,

they are also prevalent on a car forum i once used to use,

there is a clique in my village, it irritates them when you refuse to try and join them, they want you to try so they can show you how chummy and great they are, but i say f*** that.

oh please. team-schmeme. i'm sick and tired of all this politically correct swill.

i don't even grace my employees by referring to them by name. i merely point and say "you there, stop slouching and get it done".

i run a business not a lounge.

Ha, some good ones here this morning. I will add my "rub the wrong way" issues:
People who have money and think they can treat everyone they think don't have as much as them like a degenerate. This makes me rage inside and rarely do I let it slide. On many occasions attending fund raisers and galas, when I hear or see a jackass like this who is very demeaning to staff or others will let me rip him or her. I guess I should let it slide, but I enjoy teaching a jackass a life lesson.

Treat EVERYONE the same, because, when I am cut I bleed, and when they are cut they bleed. We are all humans. Period.

if by "teammates" you're referring to employees i have a different viewpoint. i let them know right from the get-go that i regard them as beneath me. i treat them as cattle and nothing more. they are all replaceable and of little value to me otherwise. if i let on that they have value then they may mistakenly think they are on the same plane as myself, which would be preposterous!

People who order their steak medium, medium well or well done. Drives me absolutely insane.

I’ve gotten into many arguments at restaurants over this lol. I’m all for people enjoy their food the way they want, but this is crossing the line.
