How do you export an iPhone address book?

I'm trying to back up my iPhone X contacts to Excel. I could hand jam them, but that would take all day. Is there a way to export the contacts to a CSV or Excel?

There are apps that will do it. There are free and paid versions.
Just search export contacts on your phone.

Hope that helps.

Hi Abdullah,

I’m afraid I can’t help with your specific query, however I’ve found the most versatile way of backing up my contacts is via iCloud.

If you lose your phone (or purchase another one in future) you instantaneously have access to all of your contacts.

The only problem with backing them up to excel is they will quickly become out of date as people change their details. The iCloud backup is always kept up to date.

Hope you find this useful.

James.

I have never used iCloud. I'm not sure I can remember how to access it.

You sync to your Apple computer via iCloud and export the address book via the desktop / laptop.

Wow, that does look easy. Sorry, I missed the "Excel" note in the original post.

I'm still trying to get an entire text thread off an iPhone of a deceased friend. It seems that Apple makes some things near impossible.

Have you tried ifttt sync Options?
I use this to make a copy of all new entries and it started by copying the 600+ entries I had.

I tried it and it was easy. I haven't tried it, but it has an option for messages.
