I understand what RM is about - the technology of the design goes hand in hand with using the highest quality, light weight materials, akin to F1. They are meant to be an extreme version of a sport watch, hence the high price.

The problem most have here is that you're giving up one hell of a collection to get this one watch.
I know others have said, it's your money, do what you want, but the vast majority have said no way.
I'd be in the boat of no way, and I like the design and philosophy of the RM very much.
It's only worth what someone will pay. The problem is, most people on planet earth have never heard of RM, so the pool of people who will pay for the RM is extremely small.

I have an RM 035 which I traded for a few years back and I can make about 5-10k on it at trade. My biggest reservation if wearing a “sport” watch for over 100k - just doesn’t seem like it will get a lot of use.
what’s the point of wearing so many different watches (pp and rolex) when deep in your heart you want something else? isn’t it be like you married and sleep with someone every night but deep in your heart you in love with someone else?

Yes, but the value of what you're giving up should match what your getting, no? Then again, the heart wants what the heart wants.....

That said, they're your watches and if you're dying for it, go for it - but know that you may live to regret it. Good luck.
Not sure many have quoted themselves here before.....
Think I get it now - totally bored with new Rolex - vintage ones, staying in collection - but parting with all the “hot” new ones and think RMs are in my future - count me amongst the converted I guess...

I would never, but if you really love it, go for it.

I don't get RM to be honest.

You will 100000% regret doing this if you do.
And again...

Especially for a middle of the road Mille.

Personally I would wear the snot out of the 5960 til it becomes cool. It is ahead of its time.

You’re right. They are an even more ridiculous example of a hype not to buy into. Gosh awful watches.

Why don’t you get a nautilus instead?

I would buy a Franck mueller vanguard before a RM. I personally think it’s a fad and marketing and the watch is impressive but I’d rather have a submariner at under 10k than a RM. it’s not my style.

Your collection is classic. I wouldn’t trade that.

I personally like Jacobs and own 2 five time zones, one in MOP and one in black but get they aren’t for everyone. I totally like Jacob more than RM tho. I even like Franck muller more...

Mille is all marketing and social media hype and stuff like that. Watch itself is cool but not amazing. It’s cool like a g shock is cool, and at 100k I don’t think I’d take that over a nautilus type cool

I would personally take the deep sea Rolex u have over any RM, unless I was getting one for free then I would take the RM, sell it, and buy more fun watches to play with

I won’t actually compare a RM to a GShock... I own a few GShock too but seriously they are not comparable. You need to not only check them out better still own one for a few months to truly appreciate it (RM). I agree it is not for everyone especially at this price point it will never be. But one thing every RM owner will tell you is, they buy the watch because it is so comfortable on the wrist. Comfort to me is priceless. I own Nautilus but due my more rounded wrist profile it is not very comfortable for me and I think the market price on the nautilus is ridiculous and at the current market price it is totally overrated.

Yes do it. You’ll be in a higher class. Rolex class are on the bottom of luxury. And yes I’m on the bottom class too lol.

I agree completely – assuming you mean a higher class of gullibility, of course.

For many years I also wondered about RM and why the hype and now I own two and love them. Over time really appreciate the brand. With that said, I am not sure I would part with that many pieces for on RM. However if you have a big collection in addition to what you are trading-- might consider it.
